What if I sold a RROD Xbox on eBay?

Well, M$ sent back my xbox today, and I need money to get a new one so if I sell my Xbox on eBay not saying if it works or not, will I still get my money? Or will they open a claim and try to get a refund?

just list it as rrod and someone who fixes it will buy it, especially if it has cables and power brick with it.

Yes, I have no morals (MS took them away).
I'll just buy an xbox from walmart and return it with my old one. I'll just switch the mobo.

Your rrod has the hdmi? If not, it'll be quite obvious to the Walmart clerk when they open the box, pull out the 360, and verify the serial number on the back.

Alright. I probably wasn't gonna do it anyways cause I didn't want to get caught. I'll do the X clamp fix on this one and buy one off a friend for $50.

I'm thinking of burgling someones house, stealing their xbox and replacing it with my RROD xbox. Anyone think this will work and if not, can I still be prosecuted?

the funny thing about this thread is that everybody is ripping on the op for stealing or taking advantage of the system while almost every poster in the xbox forums obtains their games through newsgroups, torrents or "backing up" blockbuster games.

No, if you mod your Xbox you know the risks involved and that's on you if it breaks, ie RROD and a voided warranty. You shouldn't try to rip off some unsuspecting person buying it on ebay. I guess by your rational someone who pirates a game may as well commit armed robbery too?

i'm not trying to cut anybody down as i've gotten a ton of advice and knowledge from all of the community regulars in this forum. my first thought was exactly like everybody else's when i first read the original post too. but then after i thought about it... the situation made me laugh while i was surfing nzbmatrix.
i still think it's a douchey move if he does it though.

Someone I know did the Xclamp fix and I know that it is not permanent. A lot of people sell x-clamped 360 on ebay so at least I am not scamming anyone.
And I wasn't lying about me buying one from a friend.

Really if i was buying a rrod console on ebay it's better to buy an unopened/untampered one rather than one that has been xclamp fixed. That's like the cheapest 360 i won was for 39 dollars shipped. It came with a note that microsoft denied it for service. So i opened it up and this is what i found.

Well, if thats how you roll thats how you roll. Think of it this way. Microsoft Robbed us all. They Have stollen Millions of dollars from Consumers. Stealing is wrong from all ways though. Thats why i stopped burning Xbox 360 games, lol too guilty (and the Xbox bit the dust of course. Lol)
