I want to buy a racing game but I dont know which one to buy (im talking about cars racing game, not motocross bikes or things like that).
Im lopking for a good road racing game and I like simulators (real driving games, not arcade games and street racing ), something really close to gran turismo, which I like the most (I dont buy the gran turismo prologe because Im waiting to the full game).
SO, Can you tell me what is your favourite racing game?
(I dont like need for speed)
Thank you all

Shift is overrated and once again has an abysmal car list; just more of EA's shovelware. There's not really a whole lot of good driving sims out there for the ps3 yet unfortunately; I'm in the same boat you're in.

It is good to know that there are other people who like simulators like me.
I think there are not much good racing simulators for ps3 too, i hope there will be more racing games to the ps3 in the future.
So,can u suggest me about more racing games? (I really want to buy one)

thank u all

ok so you may think shift is overrated but i really like it and think you should buy it but i think gran turismo 5 will definatly top all current racing sims currently on the ps3.

robbo9, I dont know who u talked to but if u talked to me i think you misunderstood me. I would never say anything bad about a game i didnt play (Im talking about the need for speed shift) , I didnt mean to start an argument, all i asked is a suggestion about a racing game. In addition, i totally agree with u that the gran turismo 5 will be the best racing game for the ps3 and I just cant wait for it, but this is the problem with this game, I dont even know when it will be releasded, I want a game that is already out, so i will think about the nfs shift (thank u for suggesting to me).

thank u all again, u guys are best (and I hope even more people will tell me their opinion)

Pro street wasn't too bad, at least now with its current price anyway, down to like 30 bucks iirc. I would never the full original price for it, likewise with shift and its $69 price tag. The games aren't bad per say but its very clear EA doesn't want to put the effort into them lately so I will not pay their inflated price for their deflated game.

If I'm right, isn't Gran Turismo HD Concept available for download? I'm not sure if it's free or not, but from what little I've played of it, it seems like it's got a good variety of cars and tracks... for a demo.

Anyway, you might want to check that one out. It should be able to keep you satisfied until the actual game comes out - and word is that the final GT5 should come out in Spring '10.

According to play.com GT5 is out this december in uk but doubt this as they have said games will be out on certain date countless times before and then changed it just before that said date. And aslo dindan don't forget to tell us what game decide to buy if any.

Their date is wrong, GT5 was reasently given a march 2010 release date in japan. All other regions would come after that.

Correct. As for the original poster I would still suggest GT5P because you can pick up a NEW copy for $29 at most places and even as little as $24-$25 in some places! Plus you can easily pick up a used copy for even less!

If you want sim racing on the PS3, you're not gonna get any closer than GT5(& GT5:P). Personally, I'm having a lot of fun with DiRT 2 at the moment, so that would be my suggestion. Also, even with all the people who stated NFS: Pro Street to be a step down from previous NFS games, I found it to be pretty fun and easy to pick up and play, especially now that it's about $20.

And yea, racing games (or at least sims) seem to be sparse on the PS3... GT5 should fill that gap right up!

Are they any less sparse on PC/360? About the only one I know of on 360 is Forza, and on PC... well, PC's got tons of them. Or at least I would assume so.

The last great NFS for me was most wanted. I liked the storyline better than carbon. And everything after that was lame. I find NFS shift to be kinda boring after a while. I played the demo and it was enough for me. Just wait for GT5 it should top every racing game out there.

PS3...it only does everything(that Sony allows it to)

GT5 will be the greatest racing game made to date. In the interum, you might consider Gran Turismo PSP. If you have a 360, Forza 3 is going to come out on 10-22, and should be an excelent title for the months before GT5 comes out. If you want something like GT4, you are going to be very dissapointed by the test drive and NFS series. The Ferarri games all suck, as does the VW game. There are also a couple of Formula 1 titles out. I have not tried them (not a F1 fan) but these may appeal to you are they are very technical (not the cheesy street racing/arcade feel)

ooZEROoo, i can tell u that gt im my favorite game since ps1 too, i had gt2 for ps1 and gt3 for ps2 and i also downloaded gt for psp and i just cant wait for gt5.
Although i said i dont like need for speed, after looking at pictures and some adds i bougt the need for speed shift. untill now the game is pretty good, it is a simulator, the cars sound is good and the drivig itself is much better than i thaught. So, i think i didnt mistake in buying it ( I think its the best driving game for ps3 after gt5 prologe).

What is my favorite racing game in all time? Let's see.
Mario Kart Double Dash was great, but that is only second to the likes of...
Crash Team Racing!

CTR is and think will always be my favorite racing game.
Call it a Mario Kart rip-off, call it whatever you want. It was an awesome game.
