Help with Eurovox EX1100 Hard Drive

I've a 200GB HDD in a USB HDD enclosure which I have hooked up to my EX1100. However I cannot access any of the recording features in the menu apart from USB disk status. Clicking this shows that a USB plug in is seen.

The other features in the menu are not accessible - record manager, HDD info, HDD format & PVR setting.

When I press record button on the remote control nothing happens. I have tried formatting the HDD in NFTS & FAT 32 with no joy.

However, when I plug in a USB disk it allows me to access all the menus.

The HDD is recognised in Windows on my PC. Is the problem because it is an IDE disk rather than SATA

Can someone please help
