the best media to use is DVD-R or DVD+R. If you are just playin around with trying to get it work, use a RW.

PS2 doesnt handle RW media to well (if an older model)

The -R is still the most compatible (according to various media forums) , although there isn't a lot in it between -R & +R

I'm using ritek dvd+ 4x for everything. I haven't had but one failure. Shrink wouldn't burn it but Decrypter burned it with out a problem. I am now on my 2nd 100 of riteks. They play on my PS2, it's a new one. they play on my JVC Progressive scan, and my sons samsung DVD. And I have to agree with the Herbsmen, invest in some RW's for your trial burns. Till you get comfortable..
