Hi all

Just a quick one, the new stvw hd box can this also pick up sat signals? as well as cable if so does anyone know if you have to put a fix in via usb as with the box usb to recieve sat signals and does that mean because being a hd decoder we will be able to recieve espn etc in hd any advice would be great.

Cheers in advance

its a duel source box, which works on sat and cable, so you will get whats on cable in HD and on Sat in HD if available, So, if ESPN is in HD on Cable you will get it, if not then no.

Please note that this wont currently work for Irish users on the HD cable side of things but the Sat part will

Thanks for that, i also wanted to know on the sat front with the box do you just need a sat dish on the wall to recieve the sky channels and if so does the box need a usb fix for sat as for cable?

you wont get Sky packages on it, you will get others thats are available, now in the UK, you will get the chans on cable, but the sat side of things, is a bit different, think you need to read up on the sat side as there is a wealth of things to read and to learn,

The sat works the same as any other sat, normal dish, I am not sure what you mean a USB fix? but yes, depending on what you want some chans or services may need a patch, but thats been the way with Sat for years,

Hi.
Please clarify something for me if you could. The HD is just the Freesat HD channels then or it's HD on the cable side as well? Will it do the same "tricks" as the earlier Starview boxes as I'm thinking of upgrading from one of these if this is the case.
Currently have SV3 and Freesat but at standard def.

Thanks.

BTW.
Where can I find more info on the new box?
