Ok, so I got messing around in Wadmanager and smoked my System menu. I've been staring at a black screen of death for five days now.(Yes, I'm an idiot, thinking about giving up the hooch). They call it a low level brick.

I've been doing alot of reading but the message is mixed. Here are the questions:

1) Has anyone used Savemii alone, or Savemii in combination with a mod chip to recover from a low level brick?
2) Is Savemiifrii a myth? Can it Savemii?
3) Has anyone successfully returned a low level brick to Nintendo acting innocently or otherwise? What did it cost you? Testimonials please.
4) Go ahead and tell me I'm generally screwed if you wish, but do you think future mods will be able to wake my wii from the dead?

I actually called Nintendo and told them the truth. Answer: $150-200 repair, you might as well go buy a new wii.

BTW I was running 4.0U on a Wii that was manufactured 09/08

First off why would you go and mess around in wad manager. So far the only way you can brick your wii in the wad manager is if you install wads that are corrupted that mess up your wii.

If you have a modchip there are recover disks for you to fix your wii system so there is no need for save mii. Savemii works for almost all bricks as far as i know.

Save mii frii is not a myth it works.

If you return a bricked wii to nintendo it will cost you around 70 dollars for a replacement. That use to be the case. However recently nintendo has gotten smarty about brick returns and they know who the people are. Some guy got arrested for doing so and now hes facing 5 years in federal prison if hes sentenced. So i wouldnt recommend it. This is their attempt to stop piracy. Like most users who call them now they just give them the same message about buying a new wii thats how they are going to make back their money for your method of cheating them with homebrew. Nintendos stepping it up.

if you got a black screen you are screwed. Your system menus corrupted.

The dumb thing I did is delete all of my wads thinking I was unsoftmodding my wii. I don't have a modchip installed.

You say savemii "works for almost all bricks as far as i know", and then you say, "you got a black screen you are screwed", am I to conclude that you mean, "no currently available recovery method will recover from a black screen".

how can you brick your wii by deleting your wads? Wads are from your sd card and you delete them via your computer. As for the wad channels deleting those do not cause bricks.

Second i was just going down your previous post line by line and responding to each of your questions. Let me clearly state this. If you have savemii it can recover you from your black screen of death because it installs a clean slate system menu for you.

When i meant you were screwed i was clearly saying black screen of death = no way out unless you use saveme or have a modchip. hope that clears it up.
