I'm so mixed up. To copy one of my DVD's, I used DVD Decrypter & DVD Shrink. I stopped short of burning with Nero because I have Roxio. I dragged the 5 VOB, 2 BUP & 2 IFO files in and burned it successfully onto a Memorex DVD-RW disk. When I went to play it on my DVD stand alone player, it recognized the disk but just kept saying that it was reading it. Then the player froze. I then went on my laptop to check it out. I selected one of the VOB files and it looked and played absolutely beautiful. Crystal clear. My stand alone DVD player says that it will read DVD-RW's and I know if it didn't, then the disk wouldn't be recognized at all. So what's my problem?

Did you burn a VIDEO_TS folder (containing all needed VOB/BUP/IFO files) ?

Yes, everything that was in the folder. I finalized the session but not the disk..could that be my problem? Also, if you are familiar with Roxio, I used the Data Disk program to burn the DVD. I feel so close but so far away.

Sorry but Ive never used that inferior burning engine , I use Nero 6 Ultra myself...

A stand alone DVD Player wont play an unfinalized RW media , so yes that could well be your problem !!!

I really like Roxio for music and data but am leaning towards Nero if I can't get it to finalize the DVD. It has the option but for some reason it's ghosted out. I'm going to try using Roxio's DVD Builder and if that fails, then I'll get Nero. By the way, what are there 5 VOB files? When I view the VOB files on my PC, they all play the same. 12 hours of work and the clock is still ticking!

the 5 VOBs you're talking about are probably the 'main movie' , although that is more of an educated guess than actual fact (as I am not at your end & dont know what you've done exactly)

if you are happy with roxio for all your other needs (though i cant think why.....:) )

then why nt use decrypter to burn your dvds.

if you have latest version of shrink you can set it to burn with decrypter.

life is like a shit sandwich.......the less bread you have.....the more shit you have to suffer!!!!

Just say NO to ROXIO and stick with the Nero 6, it's all automatic
