I'm trying to burn my back ups with Philips DVD-R but keep failing. I'm using IMGburn x1 speed.

Use better media like Verbatim or Taiyo Yuden. Also burn at half the rated speed with IMGBurn.

My rule of thumb is 1/2 the rated speed of the media.

ex. 16x media burn at 8x, 8x media burn at 4x, etc.

With of course, the provisio that your burn supports the burn speed.

I typically always burn at max. Never had issues.

But use good media.

I was having issues with Philips DVD-R but thanks to larrylje its woking fine.
