Alright, so last night I decided to get crazy and dive into the modding my xbox 360. I read the tutorials, got the newest firmware, etc...
I hooked up my BENQ drive to the SATA port on my motherboard and power drive with Xbox. (Pretty sure I dont need a VIA card because the flash process went fine intially.)
So I loaded up JungleFlasher 1.66 and followed the tutorial. Everything went smoothly. HOWEVER, I FORGOT TO CONNECT THE A/V CABLES WHILE FLASHING!
So, I connected to TV and it just said "Tray Open". Now I can't even open my disc tray when I hit the eject button. Doesn't even try to eject.
My question is HOW DO I ERASE THIS FLASH AND WRITE A NEW FLASH TO MY DRIVE?!
I have tried EVERYTHING. DosFlash16, DosFlash32, JungleFlasher, iPrep, etc...
Windows detects the drive. However, when re-booting it hangs at the BIOS so I have to power off the Xbox until Windows logo comes up and then I turn it on.
DOSFLASH and JungleFlash get stuck at 0x51 when trying to read drive and go into Vendor Mode. Tried power cycling ALOT.
I just don't understand what the problem is. Why is this so hard to remove a bad flash and put a new one on the drive? Its crazy. EVERYTHING WORKED FINE THE FIRST TIME I FLASHED IT. I JUST FORGOT TO HAVE THE A/V CABLES CONNECTED AND NOW I'M STUCK WITH A BAD FLASH!!!
Please guys....Any help will be so very much appreciated!

No sir...it finished the process all the way the first time I did it. I couldnt believe how smooth and easy it was.
Then I connected to TV and saw that it just said "DISC TRAY OPEN"
After doing a ton of googling I realized I had to forgot to have A/V cables connected...
Now I'm stuck here...
Thanks for your reply by the way. Appreciate it alot!

you don't need to have your av cable to flash. The only reason you do that is so that the 360 doesn't power off after a certain amount of time.
Make sure your dvd drive is actually plugged back in power and sata wise to the 360

All connections are good.
However, you jogged my memory. I actually DO think the Xbox turned off during JF reading and writing. I know it turned off a couple times and I didnt know why. Now I know why of course...
So lets say that it DID crash during writing...and then I quickly powered back on once I realized it...

From what I've read, its pretty damn hard to brick a benq even if it crashes during the flashing...

typically when dumping the firmware, I believe it asks you to save some files. The key would be in one of them

Re-Intro the drive to re-flash the firmware.
Connect your BenQ to same SATA port you were using.
Your BenQ will more than likely not be detected. Click Intro/ Device ID.
Click OK at pop-up box.
When you see the dots go across the bottom of the JF log, disconnect the DVD drive's power cable for 1 second and then reconnect.
Should gain access to the MXIC flash chip (status 0x73).
Go back to the Firmware tool tab and prepare your firmware (original BenQ bin = source & IX 1.6 = target, spoof source to target)
Go back to MTKFlash tab and write the firmware.
Outro/ ATA Reset.
Test out in console.

Homie, I've done that on every single Flashing program out there. The problem is that I simply cannot get it into Venor Mode. I just need to get into Vendor Mode! haha
And also, after I do this in JF, it freezes up the drive and then Windows disables it and I cannot enable it again without rebooting...

Are you using the VIA SATA Card?

Hey Leerage, I just did exactly what you said again just to make sure I wasnt being a moron.
When I power cycle, it just hangs and gives me a bunch of dots.
The interesting thing is that JF does recognize my drive...just wont put it into Vendor Mode.

Leerage, no I am not. After reading your tutorial, I came to the conclusion that I wouldnt need one since I'm going directly from Xbox drive to SATA port with Intel ICH9 chip

My guess is you might need to change some settings in your BIOS. If you can't intro the drive, it could be a setting with your SATA. Maybe check in the BIOS to see if you can change from the SATA mode.
Example of Modes: Enhanced, Normal, Legacy
Then try again.

Alright, I'll go take a look in my BIOS. If I can switch modes, what mode should I put it on?
Also, I was able to Intro, get into Vendor Mode, and basically complete the Flash process in JF before. Why would my BIOS settings need to be played with if I've been in Vendor Mode before?

Well, only SATA settings in BIOS were Enhanced and Compatible or Disable.
I was already in Enhanced. Tried Compatible. Nothing.

If you changed the SATA settings and it didn't make a difference, I say you should get the VIA SATA card. I know you were able to obtain the firmware, but Intro'ing a drive with no firmware may not be possible with this chipset.

What are the chances that a VIA card will solve my problem?
