Hi,
I got a new wii with serial Lu394 and would let to modded it
I may get the drivekey solderless wii mod chip with the new x4 diode
Can i modded my wii with it?
I read that the Lu394 serial cannot be modded

It can be modded but you can only play games from a USB loader and USB Device.

Disc launchers like NeoGamma will not work.

Keep in mind I have seen some with LU39 systems claim to be able to play backup disc. So if this is true some LU39 systems may be backup disc compatible and some may not.

Hoping your not in 4.2 firmware...
There is a linked guide for 4.2 firmware listed in my guide. So as long as they can read a guide they should be set.

Would you be able to swap out the new disk drive with one from an older system to use a modchip or is there something else blocking backup disks.

Don't know since I don't have one. All I can say is try to swap the disc drive and see. I would be interested to know if that would work myself.

Recently bought a LU39.. firmware 4.1u but i'm having trouble getting the softmod started. I'm not new to this but this is the only one i've had this much trouble getting started.

Please help...

Note; I've reformatted SD card plenty of times using FAT16 and FAT32.
