I've been streaming media from my pc to my 360 for awhile now, and am getting close to needing to throw a second HD in my PC. I picked up an external to back up some of my stuff, and can't seem to find a way to get the 360 to stream from it, at least outside of media center (I prefer to simply use the video streaming outside that program, as it tends to be slower for me).
I'm not sure if I can stream from the external, and that's ok if not. What I want to do is make sure I can stream from multiple HDs that are internal, and if so find out how I would set up such a thing, as when I look at the folders on my PC, I can't find a way to have one public folder link to files from multipls hard drives, which may be impossible, I'm unsure.
Can anyone who has done this provide some guidance or insights?
Streaming from multiple internal hard drives is no problem. Just add the drives/folders you want to share to WMP's library and you're good to go. You can do the same with other UPnP servers too.
Hi mate i have similiar setup 3 internal hd and 1 external hd on my pc, I use TVersity to stream, simply download and install Tversity, once installation complete, click the library tab at the top, then click browse, and select the drives (folders) you want to share. It very simple and flawless. Your xbox wll detect it without you having to play about with settings etc on it. good luck.
