Hey everyone, I need some help with my xbox 360 with regards to flashing the drive firmware.

Before I start, i will add that I've spent hours reading several forums and guides on how to mod my xbox 360, but there are that many ways to do it I'm just plain confused and pulling my hair out now.

Ok, my 360 has a Samsung Drive installed in it, i know that because of the tray shape and also the wires behind the faceplate.

I've bought so far , an opening tool and via SATA card.

I'll not mention the types of flash tool that people of mentioned as theres about 4 so far, all with differing ways of flashing.

I've modded consoles before, PS1, PS2 and Xbox, Wii, so I have a pretty good idea of what I'm doing but this one has me.

Anyways, I've drawn my own conclusion that a Team Xecuter Connectivity Pro Kit V3.

I'm assuming that this fits to the back of the xbox drive and into the SATA card via your pc, but again there's about 5 guides on how to do it.

PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE could someone help me out on this as my son is driving me mad!

You do not need the CK3 connectivity kit. You can use the 360 to power the drive. Please see the link in my tutorial "Samsung" or take a look through the Jungle Flasher tutorial (also linked in my signature).

thanks alot mate, so far you have been the most helpful person I've asked, those guides make it sound very easy, I've just downloaded all the stuff i need, just need to find out if my SATA chipset will work etc.

Didn't know a connection kit wasnt needed, which makes me think why they sell them?

Just awaiting for my opening tool and I will start the task :)

Will report back with any updates

Thanks again

The connection kits are to power your xbox drive via your PC. Its more convenient and also some peeps think that if you power your Xbox up without a drive connected to the SATA port, it will flag you for banning.

I know peeps that have been doing this for years without a ban, so i think its paranoia, but who knows (only M$).

Also, you don't really need a opening kit, i use nail scissors and hey work flawlessly.

ok thats really helpful info chaps, i think I'll risk the non connection kit method, but if i was to change my mind and go for a connection kit is the CK3 Pro the best one to get or is there something else?
