sup guys, havent been on here in about 3 months.
is the 1.6 update out for the hitachi drive yet? i have the sata cord and plan on doing it myself but would prefer someone else to do it for me, and i will pay, just wanna know thx :)

No update AFAIK on 1.6 for Hitachi's yet, 1.51 will play Wave 3 games anyway so just flash with that.
Also, would highly recommend learning and flashing yourself. That way, when there is a firmware update, your not reliant on someone else!

No word on Hitachi. The firmware team has got theirs hands full with the new August 2009 83850C Lite-ON. So I don't see Hitachi IX 1.6 in the new future. Personally I would replace the Hitachi with a BenQ.
There is a difference between IX 1.5 and IX 1.51. If you can't play any new games, you have IX 1.5.

It doesn't. It's different.
Next, do some research. There literally was a thread today on whether there is 1.6 for hitachi.
Do research on flashing, and getting the firmware, that will help you with updating the hitachi.

This is a second release of the 83850 correct? I have no problems flahsed the others but I did read you can't use lo83 on this drive. any update on where they are on getting this one? Sorry to hijack but I was curious.

funny, its been a long long time since i've dont any modding or the sort, well i just picked up a xbox360, fix the ring for death (booo) then flashed with jungle flasher, took me 20 min to open, flash the drive and put back together and this is after years of not reading anything on the 360.. too easy not to do yourself..
