You cannot play "backups" of ps3 games on a ps3 There are no known, or at least publicly known "hacks" for the ps3 Instead of posting links to the countless threads asking these questions that can easily be answered by searching, I decided to make this post, which hopefully will be the last one needed. If you are too lazy to search for answers to your questions, why should someone be busy or diligent enough to create something that will save you money? Life is like a science project, the end result can only be equal to or greater than the work you put in.
We already had one of these, but it was put into the ultimate sticky and taken off the top. I argued to keep it stuck uptop but to no avail. And the large sudden inflow of these threads is the result. Hopefully the old one will be restuck or this one will be stickied and not in the ultimate sticky. If someone is so lazy as to not google something then what are the odds they are going to go inside a large sticky and read through it; it needs to be up so any moron can see it at a glance.

I agree 100% with that,it needs to be returned to the top of the board, perhaps the title needs to be renamed to something more helpfull, like, "PS3 cannot play backups, anyone asking will be banned" :p

I?ve been a member of Afterdawn for a few years now and even though I don?t post much I used to enjoy having a flick through the forums and reading what people were talking about. Every time I log on I see the same few guys just laying into people and even though they may be lazy or even noobish they are less aggravating than you lot. I find you more irritating than the noob posters!
All im reading lately is ?Use the search function!!" where is your positive input?
The forum isn?t as busy as it used to be and that?s a shame because there were some really sound people on here but I can?t help but think that your constant abuse drives people away.
That Oner and Creaky dude plus the puppy mod (can?t remember the name) do a good job of policing the forums so why are you lot constantly going on at people?
Give it a rest and give people a chance. Ask AD if you want to be a Mod otherwise just stick to good convo.

I am here quite often, a lot more than you and i do help people, go look at my posts, i get annoyed when someone cant be bothered looking a couple of threads down, ie, someone has posted asking about ISO's, it gets answered, then someone else asks the same question and the original one is a few threads below that, there is no way you can possibly find that acceptable

That would probably be down to you not being on much, you only seem to come on to gripe about other members, esspecially senior members, who are here every day and help people

If that is a great concern of yours, stop complaining about it, do something positive instead, like help those "n00b's",there is no point in laying into those of us that are here all the time, just because we get annoyed at lazy people.

Thats about your only valid point, the moderators of this forum are great and i have much respect for them, as a moderator myself, i know what the job entails, constructive critisism is not a harmfull thing.
Also, if the type of questions were asked on the forum i moderate, the poster would get flamed to hell, so telling someone to usre the search function, is very mild.
I also have no greivance towards you, i just think if your going to complain about us memebers that are very active, you should at leats help those people you claim we are not helping.

And the problem is because almost every single person who joins on here lately asks "can the ps3 be hacked yet?" and dosent contribute anything. How are we suppose to respond positively when the only answer to their question can be summed up in two letters; No. And searching before posting is rule #1, and if these stupid thread continues its going to turn into gamefaqs type environment.
I didn't want to make a thread of shame type thing, because i could imagine how i would feel if my thread was to be included in there, I'd be pissed, which could start animosity in the forums... So instead i made this thread.

when I was a noob at the whole PSP thing a few years back. i'd come here and ask questions, and get abused by the people who knew about the PSP more than others, I left this site and went somewhere else for my psp questions and hacks.
people ask all the time because times change all the time, I'd be playing my psp on some random firmware and I would ask around in the forums, what ever firmware going to come out soon , balh blah No its not out stop asking blah blah abuse abuse, then not 18 hours later its out.
people ask cause stuff changes all the time, and they may not know cause last time they came here to ask they got abused so they left for a while and ask a week later or month later.

See thats what im talkin about there is just no need for that kind of post. What you guys dont understand is that when you understand the the whole hack thing its easy to look down on other people but alot of people wouldnt even no what to search for on google.
I remember when I first started backing up my DVD's with shrink i didnt have a clue what i was doing and was constantly up against people abusing me for asking simple questions. But the fact is I didnt know what to search for or what key words to use to find the info and guides I needed to get started.
Alot of people dont even know what an ISO is they just want to ask the question because they dont know where else to get the info.
Im not saying sum of you guys dont help peaple but (sum of) you come across very up ur own bums and I certainly wouldnt ask many questions here for fear of getting abused.
Some of you guys got to remember that even tho you take this seriously alot of people are just casual web surfers and come to AD for quick answers n i dont think theres owt wrong with that.

I understand your point and agree AD isnt a fanboy forum n thats very good but the PS3 section had turned a little bit abusive and that has spoilt my fun...

I'm not getting into the whole debate about separate stickies, suffice it to say that too many people would ignore them even if neon lights and tasers were used, and we now have one big sticky in most of the forums.
Whatever happens with the stickies, people are always going to ask the question. Like Creaky says, we couldd have a big flashing banner at the top of the page and people would still ignore it. That is just how things are, and i'm pretty certain they're not going to change anytime here.
I spend a lot of time "lurking" on this forum, I don't post as much as some of you guys. I get annoyed with seeing the same questions again and again, and I have posted some sharp answers to people in the past, but no matter how many people we tell the answer, there's always going to be 100 more who ask the same thing. That's just something that's going to happen.
Maybe we should not reply to any of these type of posts anymore, and either let the posters find out for themselves by posting or ask somewhere else.
But that may be going against the whole idea of the forum.
If we think back to the very first post we each mad here, would we think that was a stupid question if we saw someone else ask it now?
We're never going to stop the questions, so perhaps we should find a uniform way to deal with them.
i have been at AD for many years. i dont post much cause by the time i get to a thread the question was been answered. along with a bunch of b.s. not to defend the noobs but most of them did do a search and thats how they came here. i know thats how i found AD in 2002. i just made a comment about the negativity that is all over this place now. the simple thing to do is if you dont like the threads about backups or modchips or hacks for the ps3 dont respond to them,dont click on them move on to the next thread let someone how is willing to reply with out any sarcasm. yes people are lazy and no one but them can change that telling them to search using AD search help and some may take it the wrong way for what ever reson but why start a flame war over something so petty? just my two cents on the matter.
and yes i am here checking out the site almost every day.

I agree that searching can sometimes be confusing and misleading, but it is also true that if people are active contributors to this site, and help people to solve their problems (nearly on a daily basis,
then they should also be entitled to be annoyed when people blatantly dont make an effort to learn for them selves.. I dont wanna start any type of flame war or argument, Im just tired of seeing the the threads, and the "abuse"
I do think that the only people here who should cast judgement here are the mods. My original point was to highlight the amount of negative feedback people were posting in general.
I don?t dought that alot of you guys are regular posters but you have to understand that we are all not at the same informed level.
