Just need a quick answer here guys, If i am buying a faulty unit off of someone how can i confirm the dvdkey is present.

He lives far from me and wants to get a train down to swap his faulty unit for my working unit but i dont want to waste his time.

Is trying an original game the only way to check for a lost dvd key or can i ask him to try anything else.

Thanks

if it plays any game, then the dvd key is fine.

why would you swap a working 360 for a faulty one.

obviously i would be getting cash as well :)

Plus mine is the non HDMI and Im swapping For a HDMI with drive issue!!

Is there any other way of testing or is trying an original the only way.

The guy says he aint got no originals to test it and since a guy tried to flash it it wont play his backups either.

I stand to benefit a lot if the key is present but i wont make the guy come all the way to me just to tell him i dont want it!

if it won't play any games, at all, then it is likely there is a key issue.

he aint got an original to try so i have told him to borrow one before i agree to a deal.

Will a unit still read DVD's without a DVDKEY?

If it is a faulty unit then how do you expect the guy to try an original game in the first place?

If there is an issue with the drive/key then I would think a few things could happen. RROD or the drive will just act as a normal DVD player.

The fault is that it wont play his backup games and he has no originals to try.

He seems abit stupid as i think it might just be that the guy didnt flash it right. Hell if i can swap a flashed non HDMI for A HDMI and then fix and flash it and hes going to give me money on top then id say im getting a bargain :)

But you won't. He says he tried to get it flashed and now it won't play his backup games anymore, right?

That means whoever flashed his drive, didn't flash his drive key... And probably didn't make a backup of his orig.bin file.

He's being dodgy with you because he knows he's about to screw you over with a 360 shaped DVD player.

listen, I've posted the same thing 3 times, and so have others. unless it plays games, there is not a dvd key on it.

end of story
