Hello everyone. I am a newb to the xbox mods. I don't have one yet and am getting one very soon. I don't even have an xbox. Make question is. I have seen so many different mod chips available on the market. I don't know which is the best. Money is not really a concern. I want to have a chip that will give me the most options. I would also prefer a non-solder mod. I just wanna get rollin. Thanks for any info that any of you may offer. This website does a fresh job.

Xenium (www.ozxodus.com) has been great for me. They sell a solderless adapter (install couldn't be easier). You'll be happy.

www.system-mods.com sells solderless chips also, no adapter needed. But I would strongly suggest going with a solder version. Way too many ppl accidently bump their xbox's and the solderless chip moves and loses contact with the MB. There have been many threads where ppl say that their xbox does not work anymore, then a day later they find out this was thier problem. Soldering is not hard, and I can promise you wont mess up your xbox. :)

Does anyone have info on the Aladdin Mods? How reliable are they?

Are they a lower standard vs. the Xenium & Xbit chips?

aladin chips are anoying to use,you have to hold the ON button so many seconds to turn on with flash protect on, hold it on for a different amount of seconds for, chip on flash off, and hold the reset on for so many seconds to turn on with chip off. They also DONT have a new style "no patch" hack like the XECUTERS do.

petone, go to www.system-mods.com and buy a premodded system. No fuss no muss. You can even get one with a 120gig hard drive. If you don't have the xbox yet, why waste time buying one then trying to install the chip yourself?

ver 1.0, 1.5 and 1.6 with 200gb hdds & X3. Team Xecuter Pro front panel with LCD Screen (rocks). GC with qoob pro, Team xecuter's iced cube case mod and a BBA.

a comment about solderless adapters: I use the chameleon adapter with my xenium (had a chameleon, it broke, replaced with xenium), and I'd seriousely have to drop the thing off a building to get that adapter to even budge. Even then, I'm convinced that after I dug through the wreckage and found the mobo, the adapter would still be solidly in place. I think if time is taken with the install of the adapter, it can be very solid and very reliable. I transport my xbox all the time too. Taking it to my friend's places and what not. The new xenium adapter has larger, more solid pogo pins too, so you don't even need the rivits.
I admit, soldering is the absolute best way to connect components, but the adapter's aren't too far behind. Plus, it gives the option of easily returning the xbox to stock form (if it dies and you get a new one, for example).
