What do you have installed in your system? What firmware are you currently on?

Edit: I didn't realize that you had specified on your thread title that you are on FW 4.2.

I would re-install firmware 4.2 to rid most of the homebrew you currently have installed. Then use Bannerbomb Alpha v2 to install the Homebrew Channel, DVDx and BootMii via the HackMii Installer.

At what rate did you burn your backup? What media are you using? Wii consoles read the disc faster/accurately if it has been recorded at a slow rate. Also, make sure you have cIOS38 Rev14installed.

You might have a finicky drive. Try DVD-R's.

I'm assuming you're loading backups via Neogamma or a similar launcher?

is this a brand new Wii? what is the serial? You might have the version that blocks burned DVD to play and the only work around is used the USB loader.

More then likely a media issue. Booktyping the DVD+R media to DVD-ROM might help (thats if you have a burner capable of doing it).

Other then that use quality DVD-R media (Verbatim/Tiayo Yuden) burn with IMGBurn at half the rated burn speed.

did it launch the title? or might be just a bad game , try other games that are proven working.

Try following the DOP-IOS part of my softmod guide in my sig.

What game is it that your having issues with?

It would also help out a little more if you actually linked to the guide you used.
