DVDx is a hidden channel. In other words, it will not be visible in your System Menu. Instead, you will need to install a homebrew media player that utilizes the codecs of DVDx in order to play backups and factory pressed DVDs. Use Mplayer CE.

If you installed the new DVDx the ID has changed and older versions of applications will need to be updated to look for the new ID for DVDx.

This could be what is going on. Make sure you have the latest version of application and if you can find a change log and see if it says the ID for DVDx has been updated.

I don't use DVDx myself but have read that applications that used the old ID for DVDx will need to be updated to look for the new DVDx ID as well.

If your on 4.1 or below firmware you could probably find an older version of the hackmii installer v0.4 or below and try to install the old DVDx version to get the aplications to work again.

As I said above the hackmii installer v0.4 has the older DVDx version. v0.5/0.6 has the new DVDx that has a diffrent ID to it.

Try this version of the Hackmii installer, and see if it'll work.

Ok let me try to be more clear.

When System Menu 4.2 came out the update had anti-piracy code that would look for specific Title IDs that are used by HBC and DVDx. If it found those Title IDs it would remove them which in turn would remove the HBC and DVDx from the system since they use those Title IDs.

To fight this anti-piracy the Title IDs for Homebrew Channel and DVDx was changed so they would not be removed by System menu 4.2 firmware.

The downside to this is applications that used the old DVDx Title ID can not find the new DVDx Title ID.

So you will need to...

1)Wait till applications are updated to look for the new Title ID of DVDx.

OR

2) If your on 4.1 and below firmware (those system menus will not remove the old Title ID) you can still use the old Title ID by installing it with a Hackmii installer v0.4 or below.

Hackmii installer 0.5 and 0.6 will install DVDx that has the new Title ID.

Hackmii Installer 0.4 and below will install DVDx that has the older Title ID.

Make a subfolder in apps folder in your SD card. Rename the file boot.dol, and put it inside this subfolder. Fire up HBC and load the file (Hackmii). Uninstall DVDx, and then reinstall it.
