Hi, there seems to be something up with my psp. I had the motherboard replaced recently to a new one because the old one failed on me. Anyway, I made sure the motherboard it was replaced with was able to be modified. So, I had it as OFW 4.01 when I started it up again. I then made an MMS using PSP Grader v.08 with 5.00 eboot. And I had an pandora battery from a long time ago. Now I managed to modify it and restore it to 5.00m33. Then I upgraded it to 5.00m33-6. Now, I used my 16gb memory stick and reformatted it through psp. Unfortunately, I cant play some games on my psp and I can play others. I havent tried iso yet but I seem to be able to play some cso files and not others. The PSP will show the game and the PSP logo will show. Then, my screen turns black and freezes. For the cso files that work, the games do work but after some time, the game freezes on me too.( tried only 2 games so far - Undead Knights - works but freezes later on and Naruto Akatsuki Rising - PSP logo shows, screen turns black and freezes) Any help with what I did wrong here? Any suggestions? Please help!!!

there is nothing wrong with your psp ...

first upgrade to the lastest 5.50 gen-b FULL .. but besides that the problems you're having with games such as Naruto Akatsuki Rising are due to the new encryption being used ...

games that don't load like that most likely have to be decrypted which has been much talked about and discussed and there are many tutorials and whatnot available describing it...

even a seasoned pro like myself had trouble with Naruto Akatsuki Rising because not only does it have to be decrypted but the file list must be exported first and then re-imported after the decrypted eboot is inserted... it was a major pain and confusing even for me. thankfully i have just finished it and the game is now loading properly although it took me about a half hour to figure it out... SIGH

Any chance you can help me with that? How do I go about exporting and re-importing games or even decrypting it?

It's ok.
I more or less did most of the work. But I still have trouble and nope, Google doesnt show it.

I updated to 5.50 GEN B(FULL) and applied the updated to 5.50 GEN B2, though system info shows it as 5.50 GEN B(full). Next, I downloaded GameZDecryptZ v4 by Yoshiro. Pasted the Gamez Decryptz folder into X:\PSP\GAME. Then I used UMDGEN v4. I exported the iso file and saved it as a .txt file. Then I opened PSP_GAME>SYSDIR and extracted the EBOOT.BIN into the root of my memory stick. Then I went to the game menu and it shows as corrupted data. Any chance anyone can help me with this?

Any help here?

well i dunno what you're doing wrong ... the eboot.bin for my copy of naruto akatsuki rising is 1,995,600 bytes ...

i am using decrypter v2 and it reports the game tag as 0xD9160BF0

i was playing last night and its a pretty good game... the action play is smooth and interesting but IMHO there is too much dialogue

OK So I used Prxdecrypter and UMDGen 4.00. What I did was open UMDGen, extract the eboot.bin into a folder called enc in my memory stick. I had the application Prxdecrypter in my X:\PSP\GAME. Running it, it says the eboot.bin has been decrypted. I rebuilt the iso and transferred it to my ISO folder. So far, so good. Now, I went into the games menu under XMB and the game shows up. Unfortunately, the screen shows the Naruto Akatsuki Rising logo and its loading. The loading takes forever. I left it overnight and it was still loading the next day. Is there something amiss? I tried Disgaea 2 and the PSP logo shows up before the the screen turns black and the PSP switches off. Any help here?

did you properly decrypt Disgaea 2 ?? it definitely needs to be decrypted. . .

you're close with naruto but the step you missed it the one i already mentioned that through me for a loop... from the original ISO you first need to export the file list to a .txt file ... then you replace the eboot in the ISO and re-import the file list... it will ask if you want to force the positions and you say yes... then save the iso and try it...

i've never seen a game that requires this extra step and i only learned about it through the discussion comments on torrentleech... imho its an extra added copyprotection type thing to dissuade people from decrypting these eboots...

Umm yeah I did that too... I exported the game.txt and then after decrypting the eboot.bin, I imported the game.txt before rebuilding the iso. Anyway, I just got Naruto Akatsuki which has already been patched or decrypted by someone else. When I load the game, I get no luck with my psp. The screen turns black but it doesnt switch off. I can still exit the game. I tried switching to M33 driver, then Sony NP660 driver and then I tried running it on UMD with all settings in advanced configuration enabled. Still doesn't work. I am seriously thinking something's up with my PSP and the person didnt fix it properly.

I think I know what website you're taling about. It's the one with the forums, right? With Hako,CJackson and the other people? Or are you talking about the one where you do not need to register, its not a forum btw. Ive been using PSP for years, except that I didnt bother to update the last year or so cos havent been using much. Right, I googled for a patched iso, it has already been decrypted using a torrent. When I finished and just transferred it to my ISO folder since all the hard work has been done by the creator of the torrent, the same thing happens. Naruto is loading, no logo is seen but you can exit the game. Disgaea 2 makes my psp just plain outright freeze when the screen turns black before swtiching off. And these with isos that have been decrypted already.

your earlier post says you on 5.00m33-6 ( i went from that to 5.50 GEN-A,-B,-B2) maybe ita s a 5.00m33-6 prob, the other fourms i read use m33 driver on the vsh menu.

I discovered the problem already. Faulty memory stick as it turns out. No magicgate which is weird since the other memory stick Im using has no magicgate as well but can load isos. This one, on the other hand..., anyway... I got it from eBay so users here... beware sometimes stuff sold on eBay are spoilt. Mine was second hand, should have figured out. Cant even save games as the data becomes corrupted. Mehhh me and my bad luck!!

If you're reading this, the thread has been solved. Anyway, just to be on the safe side, don't try to purchase memory sticks on suspicious sites. Certain memory sticks can play isos and csos even without MagicGate(which in now way plays a part in whether it can play isos or not) MagicGate is only important in making a Magic Memory Stick. You know if your memory stick is spoilt if you cant save games on the stick as it ends up being corrupted. It is not because you are doing something wrong if you have followed instructions to the T and updated to 5.50B Gen something. Isos and Csos should work as long as you have decrypted it. If decrypting is too much of a fuss for you, google decrypted ones.
