Amazon has announced today the launch of Local Express Delivery, giving customers in seven cities the opportunity to use same-day delivery on orders. Same day shipping would be cool. Even overnight shipping is awesome. I think most people however are like me and just go with the cheapest shipping method available. Either way though those cities are large enough that there will be enough people for it to work.

I think that model will work for some consumers but at a price of up to $19 dollars for shipping that negates the advantages to shopping online. At the savings price plus shipping, I would think it would be just as cheap to buy it at the local b&m.

i think amazon should do a special offer, similar to Newegg's Shellshockers, where they have an item with same day shipping or something each day.
