ok .. i'm new to playing backed up games on the 360 .. and i have a doubt..
i downloaded a copy of forza 3 2 days ago and played the game on my 360 ..
now i hear about all these ppl getting banned for playing the game early before its release ..
well.. i haven't logged onto live since i got forza 3 ..
all i want to know is .. will i get banned if i play the game on live after its release date .. and will it matter tht i'v been playing it all this while .. or does M$ have a way to check when i played the game first and ban me for it..

pls help ..
thanks

Most likely not, but as most of the tutorials say; it's still a possibility you will get banned. That's the risk you take with mods.

yes i did read them .. but i'm unsure if those ppl got banned because they were playing FORZA 3 on live
or some other game .. n got banned because they played forza before the release and M$ somehow got to know tht they did ..

Is it only if you go online and play it that you might get banned ? I've played it with my gamertag, but not online and I haven't been connected to live...but is it detectable if I go onto Live with another, older game ? (That I've played Forza 3 I mean)

which is EXACTLY what i want to know ..

@guesswho
come on man .. i'm new to this whole xbox modding thing.. n dont really know about how exactly these bans work ... the least you can do is jus say "yes" or "no" .... u don have to be a lil B**ch abt it ..

There is a theory that info about games you've played is stored in the 360's NAND and that this info is then uploaded when you connect to Live. It is just a theory though. Also, if you've unlocked any achievements, then that info will be uploaded when you connect to Live so they'd know that you've played the game.

If I was you, I'd just hang on until the game is released before you go back online. It's not worth a permanent ban just for the sake of a week or so. That's not to say you still won't get banned, but I'd say that your chances are increased if you went online now.

As for bans in general, nobody knows exactly how you get caught. Bad rips, unstealthed games, preview/review copies and playing games early are things that are likely to set off alarm bells. If you're downloading games, wait until they fully verify with abgx360 and don't play them before the official release date, and that's about as safe as you'll be able to get with backups. There's never any guarantee that you'll avoid getting banned though, even if you do that. MS ban in waves as you probably know, so just cos you've played a game for a few days without being banned, it doesn't mean that you haven't been flagged for a ban in future - that's where a lot of n00bs get caught out, cos they think "I've played this game for 3 days now and I'm not banned, so I've got away with it!" and that's not the case.

Hope that helps a little anyway.

You just need to realize that if you play any game before it's release date, you are risking being banned, that's just common sense. I've been playing games before their release all the time, just like other modders have been as well, but just recently M$ has come back with banning people for it. I was banned for playing Saints Row 2 early (was also a bad rip).

And the theory of the 360 storing what you are doing in the NAND seems pretty logical, again it's a theory, so if you want to be safe from the bans, then your best option is to just wait till the game is released, and they are properly patched before playing them (online or offline).

Hopefully that can clear some things up for ya!

FORZA 3 is Street Dated meaning if the store had them right now they could not sell them FORZA 3 @ GAMESTOP Pre-order Ships 10/27/2009. = You play FORZA you go online Microsoft has incriminating evidence that you sir have played this game well before its release to the public and im sure your not a game tester so that is why u got the Bann Hammer.

I dont mean XBL forza online mode I mean just by connecting updating your online achievement stats.
