Hi,
This is my first thread so please bear with me....
I have an acer 5315 laptop which has a DL burner installed, so it says.... I made a couple back ups of my games since my son destroys my games all the time. So I have a .ISO file and I also found out how to create a .DVD file via IMGBURN. I only bought a 3 pack of Verbatim DVD+r DL 2.4X. So far 2 are now coasters and I dont want to waste one more...I only bought 3 cuz I wanted to try it out.
I have posted what was shown after my second try...
If you have any ideas as to why its writing please let me know!
Thanks!

sounds like bad file. verbs nevar fail.
anyways download abgx360 GUI.
run the .iso file through the program
in autofix set autofix set to level 3.
in misc set split vid to add if isnt there or invalid.
then in IMG burn set the burn speed to 2.4x
and when u pick the file to burn pick the .dvd file that abgx will make for you

It's the burner. Laptop burners are notorious for this.
If you don't have a desktop computer to put a decent desktop burner in, you can buy an external case for a desktop burner that connects to your laptop via USB.

The laptop burner itself might be your problem. My laptop can't burn a damn thing, the burns always fail. You at least have the right brand of DVDs, so you're off to a better start then some.
I 09:22:58 Total Physical Memory: 1 038 256 KB - Available: 320 260 KB - It looks like you're running a fair amount of background processes. I'd suggest closing anything you've got open before starting the burning process - MSN, IE, Firefox, ANYTHING. Turn off your Virus scanner for the few moments it's burning as well.

Thats great thanks guys!
I knew that Verbatim dvd+r DL from signapore are the best dvds that give the least amount of errors. There isnt any other dvds that are good for backup use right?
Also, I tried to stop as much background usage as possible, but i just dont know what to turn off. I do notice there are several things that use alot of memory and other things that are listed twice.
I just want to be reassured that if I stop all processes running in the background including my virus scanner the burner should work...I just have one dvd left to try.
or should I try and get a seperate USB DVD burner.
By the way, thanks everyone for your replies I appreciate it greatly!
Oh yeah, I did the Abgx360 and it said it did fail the verification but its ok now, so thank you so much for your help with that!

If the laptop computer is your only computer, I'd recommend getting a decent quality desktop DVD burner and putting it into an external casing that can plug into your laptop via USB. You can get both of these on newegg.com. This would be the cheapest/most efficient solution.
Don't bother trying to use the laptop to burn games at all. It is a waste of money.
As far as the cheap media goes, yes you can use it. It may even work for a while. However, as time goes on and the laser on your 360 loses its mojo, it will have a harder and harder time reading the cheaper ink in those cheaper DVDs. Definitely worth it to use Verbatim or other high-quality DVD. Is paying $1.20 really too much for a brand new game that costs $60 retail?

You get what you pay for
Burner choice well that's really down to who's got the flashest eye catching packaging
Just for the record i've made 130 game backups using verbs from singapore, that's a 100% success rate to date
