Im trying to upgrade my xbox to ix 1.6 but since my samsung is spoofed as a liteon im very confused since there is no guide out there regarding my situtation. However what the problem is that I cannot get the drive to start in vendor mode. I eject the drive, i eject it back in and pull the power cord when the tray is halfway in but nothing happens when i put it back in or anything. Has anyone experienced this before?

Even though it is spoofed as a Lite-ON, you still do the same procedure to intro the drive as you would for Samsung. Make sure you have the right I/O port selected (the one that shows PLDS DG-16D2S) and click Intro/Device ID. You should get a pop up box and you will want to click OK. As soon as you do, you should see dots go across the log of JF. Unplug the DVD drives power cable for 1 second and then plug it back in. Should get a good status (0x70) and you can read the firmware from there.

I was unable to get into vendor mode using that method aswell. But I burnt the activate.iso disc as instructed and you just let it load in the drive for a few seconds and click activate and it goes into vendor mode straight away. It will cost you a DL dvdr to do but its worth it.
