were they even being used before 2009? my friend is going to pick up a refurbished 360 from gamestop today and he would prefer to completely dodge the lite-ons.
wow, really? My 360 was manufactured April 2008 and its a BENQ. I guess I got lucky. How long were the BENQs used before they were stopped being produced?
I don't understand why everybody makes a big deal about lite-ons. I got I got three Boxes (2 Lite-Ons, 1 BenQ), and I swear my Lite-Ons seem to perform better than the BenQ. It may be the ages (obviously the BenQ is older), but they are a bit quieter, and also read/load a little quicker. Aside from initially needing a probe, or using the Box to Rip, I prefer the Lite-Ons.

Or is it just me?
Well they do take a whole 3 seconds longer to flash....LOL. Now there is a big deal since there are TWO unhackable lite-on's on the market.

I prefer Benq's, all the xbox's I have encountered with benq's are a lot quieter than the liteon's.
