hi, i have heard that xbox 360's are getting the account only banned if they have played a back up game ect... so all they have to do now is make a new account...

my problem is my 360 was banned a long time ago so is there any way i could get it to play live again?? or does this just mean only 360s that have recently been banned (account)

It's possible, but requires messing around with the EPROM, it's not worth it mate honestly.

It can be done. But only at the expense of another console that isn't banned. Basically, you can't unban your console and be done with it. You would be banning another console.

oh, i was just getting a little confused... because someone i know got banned for playing a game that was not out in this country yet... but they made a new account and could use the 360 on live again... so i thought maybe only accounts were getting banned now and not the actual console

There is console bans and gamertag bans. Your friend received a gamertag ban so they had to make a whole new account. If you XBOX 360 gets banned, then you will have to purchase a new XBOX 360.

if you get a new console can you still use your hard drive and keep your gamertag and achievements etc? if not, can you use a new hard drive and retrieve your gamertag on line? or will you have to start from scratch?
