There was an article on (here?) and other places about MS paying Netflix for exclusive console rites. So, no Netflix direct to PS3 any time soon. You can just stream it to the PS3 from your PC really easy.
I just can stand downloading movies. It takes for ever. If Netflix is going to have an Instant Streaming Movie service, they will have to run a T1 Fiber optic Line all of the way to my house of the Movies will be Thumb Nail sized. No way will a decent quality movie, much less real HD movie be streamed instantly to my house.

You could stream, but Netflix broke that when they went to Silverlight. Becides, if I am going to use a computer to stream to the PS3, I might as well just play from the computer. Also, while the lack of PS3 support can be explained as a bribe, the lack of Linux support is unacceptable.

Now that I think of it I remember M$ saying something about streaming HD content through Live to make up for not having a Blu ray player.

The Netflix streaming works beautifully with my Samsung Blu-Ray players that have it built in. I have the top tier Road Runner service, so connectivity is not a problem at all and the HD content looks HD; to the blind eye you cannot tell a difference.
