The only reason I could think about using both would be if using surround sound? Am I right in thinking I can just use a HDMI cable and forget about the other adapter.
thats what im using for mine,,HDMI from the xbox throught my reciver and to my HDTV,,got 7.1 surround sound on gears of war,,and i love it,,but if you just plug the HDMI to your tv you will get sound and picture,,,

I got surround sound, but it ain't very good. Although it's just going through left and right audio cables through my TV so maybe it would be a lot better quality. Decisions decisions..
