I had given up looking for a solution to stream vob to the 360 without using WMC, then I downloaded playon media streaming software for the use of HULU, and I found that I can stream vob to the 360, I have not done extensive testing to see if there are unexpected issues but it works. I am running XP HOME,my computer is about 7 years old so its not the fastest, and I am presently connected by ethernet, I will try using just the wireless N router and see if that works

What's the CPU utilization on it?
Every app designed to stream media to the 360 has been a CPU hog, unfortunately. The one exception is the one that nobody wants to hear, of course, Windows Media Player.
I also have an older PC that functions as my media server, so that plays a part. In general I don't bother with the 360, though, I just play 1080p directly from my PC to my TV and output audio through a speaker system.

What was wrong with using TVersity? It is the most popular program out there.
Back when I use to stream to my 360, I had tried PlayOn, but switched back TVersity. Plus, TVersity is free. I don't think PlayOn was... or at least it wasn't back then.
Also I've heard, but can not vouch for, that Twonky is pretty good and uses a lot less resources.

I have tried tversity pretty thoroughly and can get it to work for the ps3 (I borrowed the PS3), but not the 360, and twonky I didn't spend much time on, it was a while ago but I don't think I even managed to set it up correctly I know it was supposed to be easy but I didn't feel like researching, although I have it working on the playon software, I have found it doesn't like some files,(probably my computer). The funny thing I was trying to find this for over a year and then I stumble on to it when I wasn't really looking for it and at the same time I found a video converter (moyea)without the audio sync problems that auto gk has so I am converting to avi, now anyway and streaming with wmp ( by the way I tried with my wireless router and it still worked
bhetrick - what os are you running, because I have read tversity works if you have wmc,(I am assuming its just a processor thing)
qwert99 - I haven't payed much attention to how much memory it is using, I was just throwing this out there because I looked for so long and tried everything and nothing worked, but now I am using that moyea software I have not had one audio sync problem with it, and thats the main reason I wasn't using avi. to begin with
- neither moyea, or playon are free, I am using the trial of playon

I don't know what to tell you, you are one of two people I have heard say that tversity works (online searches included), but I couldn't get it to go.

I know how to set it up, and I can stream vob on ps3, and I can stream avi to the 360, I just can't stream vob's to the 360
(also I have read about poeople making it work with vista, it's making it work without mediacenter that I haven't been able find till the last couple of weeks) at any rate I was just letting people know that playon worked, I found a lot of poeple with the same problem and couldn't find any assistance on afterdawn or tversity forums and I was listed and checking multiple threads for over a year.
