Possible Bricked Wii

Hi All

I recently followed a guide to update my wii from from version 3.4e to 4.0 and ever since i haven't been able to get the wii to work. When i turn it on i can't find the start up screen on the t.v and therefore can't play any games. The other thing i also noticed was that once i've turned it on i can't turn it off with out disconnecting it from the power supply. Is this what people refer to as a bricked wii. If any one can help it would be greatly appreciated.

Yup, that's pretty bricked. What guide did you follow? And you didn't have bootmii or preloader installed? (though I don't think preloader would work since you upgraded your system menu)

I used a larry guide. It all went well until i tried up grading to 4.0. Is there no fix for it??
