Hi,
I have problems backing up most of the DVD's or burning UDF-disks. My burner is Lite-On 401S@411S (with the newest 411S firmware and it works better than before).
I can burn normal data-dvd's with nero and 9/10 of them work (i have some no-name dvd+r as media), but when I try to burn with DVD Shrink or CloneDVD most of the disks fail (I have burned about 5dvd's with success but all of my band of brothers backups seem to fail, could it be somekind of a burn protection? If it is then maybe you could give me some links&advice about how to get rid of it) the error with Shrink is:

EDIT:
Is the serial now gone? :)
And I have two HDD's in the promary IDE and the DVD-Burner alone in the second (as master), those Generic drives are Daemon-Tools's drives...

CloneDVD stucks in the middle of burning (on the files i'm currently trying to burn) and DVD Shrink in the middle of reading files (last time it got the files encoded but failed to begin burning). The reason that the DMA is not enabled on the other HDD might be because it's broken (bad sector's like hell :D), and Nero said also that it can't read the files succesfully so it could be because of the files are located on a "bad area" of the disk. The HDD is going tomorrow to the company where I bought it so I can get a new one..
Just updated the ASPI drivers from adaptec...can't hurt either? :)

Why do people put their Nero serial number out for display is beyond me but any way's I don't get that deep into the computer language but here's a simple question.. does it only fail while shrink is trying to analyze the movie or does it fail when you burn the movie or your dvd player say's no disc.

It might be your no name media, every body seem's to like Verbatim or Ritek g04 try those media you might hqave better success.

Hi,

I agree with geestar about that media, Looks like Prodye +R. Also it looks like your Burner is on your primary IDE buss with a dual hard drive set up. You've got DMA enabled on one hard drive and not on the other??
It also indicates you have two generic DVD ROMs on your secondary IDE channel, both with the DMA off.

So is this what you have, or am I reading the log wrong? Is one of these drives external?

I think I'd get the burner and one of the ROMs on the secondary IDE channel and then put the other ROM on the primary with the two hard drives. I haven't worked with a set up like yours, but it just seems odd the way it is currently configured. Also go into your Device Manager and enable DMA for all these drives.

You may want to edit your post and get rid of your Nero S/N ;)

I'm just going by the burn log so I hope you can tell us about your computer and all the drives it seems to have.

Ditto what geestar said about the media.

Cheers,
Frank
