Hey guys, I've been trying to burn some 360 backups. At first I used some Memorex DVD+R DL. Burn failed so I assumed it was inferior quality discs. Anyways, I just bought some Singapore Verbs which were ridiculously expensive where I live. Tried to burn one and got the same error as I did with the Memorex. Any ideas?

Every single time I've ever seen this error it has been due to a problem with the burner. 99% of those times it has been a laptop burner.

Try updating the firmware: -
http://www.liteonit.com/DOWNLOADS/ODD/LH-20A1H/firmware/LL0DN.exe
If that doesn't help, try burning at a faster speed. The Verbatims you're using are rated at 8X and on some burners 8X is the best speed to burn at.
If that makes no difference, then this could be your problem: -

If you have Daemon Tools installed, uninstall it, then Google for the SPTD uninstaller and run that (you have to do this - just uninstalling Daemon Tools isn't enough), reboot, then try another burn. If it makes no difference you can always reinstall Daemon Tools.

Not a latop drive.
Funksoulb, I have updated the FW and uninstalled SPTD. Burning a new disc a higher speed.

Alright, it failed again. I'm starting to think my drive is damaged or just old. If I do in fact need a new drive, what's the best one for burning backups?

Out of the half a dozen burners that I've owned, the Optiarc AD-7200S has been the best for burning to Verbatim dual layer media, and there is no need to burn slow with that drive cos it gives great results at 8X. It's a SATA drive though, so it may not be compatible with your PC. I've burned close to 300 DVD+R DL discs with it and I've had 1 failure which hanged at the layer break, so it was probably just a defective disc. I can't say if it's the best burner out there, but for burning 360 games on Verbatim media it's an excellent choice.

My PC does have SATA so I'll look into getting one assuming my budget can handle it :p
EDIT: To anyone who was wondering, it was in fact the drive. I was able to burn and verify successfully on another machine.
