I got a xbox 360 yesterday for $20 (YAY me lol) but the guy told me
The xbox 360 turns on but he hears the fan start and then give rrod 2 (he thinks) and then turns off. Anyway you see it is overheating so my question is what you think I should be looking at guys?
The X-Clamp been done, and idk if the heatgun been done and the guy dont know bc he got it from a friend but then the xbox just started doing that so he just sold it. I cant turn it on bc no power cord( going to buy it 2morrow local).
I cant send to MS bc seals are broken and you can tell it been open but for $20 is not bad, Just the shell on ebay sells for around that price.
Ty all for your replies!
You could try sending it to ms, they might fix it... at worst they will send it back unrepaired. If it does have 2 rrod that is most likely an over heating issue. You can fix it by installing better fans (talismoon whisper max are good).

Well, it's worth a shot (if it's still under warranty). You can get warranty stickers off ebay for about $15. I would try sending it in, a lot of people have had their xbox's fixed with not warranty stickers.
Other than that try it out with the power cord and post the error.
Yeah you right ill try i have nothing to lose :P
damn those power cords are not cheap lol well local... ebay is $20 but i didnt want to wait lol, ill just send the xbox and ill just wait for the power cord to get to me by that time lol.
I think you can find power cords/supply for about 10 at ebay.
Chris, would you happen to know if I MS fixes systems that have been flashed, but still have warranty sticker (hair dry method)? I mean would they know anyway?

They could find out if the xbox is flashed very easily. But a lot of people have sent in flashed xbox's and got them back repaired. If possible I would reflash the xbox back to original firmware, but they usually do not check.
