I read on here somewhere in another thread about this verything and i think the response was somewhere along the lines of...

"You wont be able to do it because of the labels on the outer shell"

ie : The ones with the serial number and manufacture date.

Well i thought what the hell, ive got a unit that was butchered by its previous owner, Why dont i give it a shot and try and remove them :)

SUCCESS...!!!

The labels were a bit damaged to start with so i wont be trying anything here but i believe i have proven that these labes can be remove and replace on to another shell, so....

What i want to know is if i ebayed for the outer shell, managed to switch outer label's and then placed the console in the new unit with a warranty sticker, could it work??

Is there any other identifying part i need to know of or does this sound full proof?

I mean if you try to registered a unit and it goes through successfully but the case has been butchered a bit, surely this could be an option knowing that these outer labels are in fact replaceable :)

NOTE : the only other thing i was worried about was the new shell be in such good condition. I think i could make it age overnight externally but how would i create a genuine dust build up inside ??

well there is a SN label where the controllers plug in, theres a SN label on the motherboard itself, and theres a SN label on the underside of the metal housing.

Come talk with us on efnet at #elitemods !!! or just click ME

did you really need to start another thread for this considering your last thread is about 3 posts away from this one?

this seems like alot of work and time man. i bet you can find just the 360 on craiglist or ebay for < $75.

I was thinking you could just buy the shell and replace everything including the metal housing, that way all you would have to do is replace the warranty sticker and the labels on the back with the serial number and manufacture date!! (hairdryer and Stanley blade and this is possible)

Chill out man why does it matter to you, they were different subjects and you normally get a better response if what you really want to know/talk about is stated in your title,

Are we running out of space for threads here at after dawn??

Also yes this would be worth it in certain circumstances but ill leave you to figure that one out.

Back on topic, I believe it to be possible now i have successfully removed/replaced the labels on the back on a console but the little sticker i keep forgetting about is the dvd one, nearly every console i receive has a tampered DVD seal, so here might lie the flaw to this plan unless you can buy these too?

just use some silver duct tape (not the normal store bought duck tape, but the real duct tape). theres nothing special about that dvd seal tape.

the actual stuff you would use on an HVAC system?? not many people have this. because the seal is most definitely not the normal duct tape sold at wal-mart.
