Hi all,
When downloading the classic PS1 game Final Fantasy VII from the PSN store and attempting to play it, I get the following error:
"You cannot play this game at the current video output setting (80028F10)"
I've done a lot of googling and seen various comments about PAL/NTSC compatibility and a lot of confused people. Here are the details:
* I have UK PS3 Slim and I downloaded the game from the UK PSN Store
* I am currently outputting to an HDCP compatible monitor via an HDMI-to-DVI cable.
* My Video Output settings are set to Automatic. Setting them manually shows me 576p, 720p, 1080i and 1080p all ticked, although 576p is greyed out. I don't know whether this is significant?
* The 50Hz Video Output setting is set to Automatic, although I have tried turning it to 50Hz with no difference.
* I have tried turning Upscaling on. This makes no difference.
This is the first PS1 game I've tried playing on my PS3. I've successfully played various games and demos at both 720p and 1080p.
If anyone has an idea of what might be wrong or anything I should try, it'd be much appreciated.
I played around with it a bit more and read a lot of forums posts that suggested setting the HDMI settings to Automatic. I had been running mine on Automatic, but on the next screen where it shows you the list of supported resolutions, 576p wasn't there.
I switched it to Custom, ticked all the boxes and....it works.
For some reason, setting it to Automatic doesn't allow it to play anything in 576p.
Hope this helps anyone out there with the same problem.
