Hi. I'm a total noob at this, so please bear with me. I have a fat PSP with 4.01 M33-2. I tried to get a game onto it, and then someone went horribly wrong. Whenever I go to save data utility or saved photos, It shows thousands of unnamed corrupt files. I have an 8GB memory stick. So I want to delete everything on my memory card (By formatting it), but once I put it back into the PSP, can I play games on it? Or will i have to install something on the memory stick again?

Thanks!
What game was it? And no you wont have to install anything on your memory card. Your best bet though is to update to Gen-D2 so you won't have any problems with the latest games. If your staying on 4.01 m33-2 because of the popsloader then Gen-D2 has a good one as well.
If your trying to stay on 4.01 then your going to need to patch your backups
So after everything on the memory card is deleted, I wont have to install ANYTHING on it? I want to stay at 4.01 CFW. And the game I tried to transfer was Football Manager 2007, some reason everything went horribly wrong.

you shouldn't of had to install anything on your psp's memory stick to make it run. Reformatting sets it up to be used on your cfw already. Now if your using plugins and stuff then yeah...you already know you need to put that stuff back. It could be just a bad backup of the game, have you played it before?
No, I never played it before, so formatting it would allow me to play backups? (would I have to create the ISO folder manually or will it already be there, I haven't got any plugins and stuff.

If you format the stick it will be like its brand new but enabled for the psp. So you can do everything you've been doing before on your psp without a problem. I don't know if the 4.01 creates that folder or not, you'll just have to check after you reformat you stick. If its not their then just simply make a new folder and name it "ISO" on the root of your memorystick. And yeah, its probably safe to say that your backup is messed up if you haven't played it before. May I ask why you want to stay on 4.01?
Thanks for the help! The only reason I want to stay on 4.01 is because I'm too scared to update it to a higher FW, incase something goes wrong (This experience certainly doesn't help the cause) lol. Thanks again.

Np! I would check out youtube for easy tutorials on updating your cfw and look for softmodding an extra battery and memory stick for the Pandora, this way if you brick your psp...which is highly unlikely then you can always just start over.
When upgrading just make sure your psp is fully charge and never cut it off or remove the memory stick during an upgrade. From their you shouldn't have a problem. If you need a guide just let me know and i'll toss you a link to some of the ones i've used.
