in your faqs for reflow it says to use a heat gun, but most heat guns have only 2 settings like 500F(or 750F) and 1000F. arnt those temperatures TOO high? wouldnt that just melt or fry your CPU and GPU and basically kill your ps3? is the ps3 fatherboard able to resist such high temperatures? so isnt it dangerous to inflict such a high temperature on the PS3 ????

i wouldnt try it....500F is just a little too hot :) Plus I dont think the brotherboard, sisterboard and Motherboard will like their Fatherboard gone.

Your friend in nam is not lying. She has a modded PS2, and the modder was generous enough to relabel the PS2 to PS3.
Then the pirate selling games relabeled Assassins Creed 1 and called it Assassins Creed 2. This is called marketing.
Your friend is honest and thinks she plays AC2 on a PS3. In reality she is playing AC1 on a PS2.

i would say that 500f is too high, might still be worth a go though just hold your airgun a bit further away then usual..

as for the fatherboard taking the heat i wouldnt worry too much there as the board itself will take the heat but the problem u will have is that the heat will conduct allong all the tracks within it and potentialy reach components that cannot take much heat at all.

trick to reflowing is to make sure u use plenty of a decent quality flux and be sparing with your heat. also make sure u clean ALL flux off afterwards as flux can be corrosive to some components
