Heh. Seriously. I don't understand the fascination with getting wave 4 games to work. Cars Race-O-Rama can wait :)

Could someone install the liberty city episodes add-on to the HDD from disc, and use their stand alone gtaiv disc? Would it work on non-wave 4 compatible drives?

""why are people panicing just use the activate.iso disc its not the end of the world. 1.61 will be ready when its ready"

was wondering how are you going to beable check stealth, when abgx is used.is there another way to stealth patch check?
right, is the database updated yet?

this is what insanity for all at xbox-scene.com:
1.6 does a check sum on the video partition. If it doesn't match what it was programmed to be acceptable it won't boot it. (Wave 3 and earlier is acceptable to it.)

1.51 (Hitachi) does NOT do this check sum and is why the games will play with it.

Using the activate.iso disc temporarily disables this video partition check to allow the game to boot.

Assuming you have a GOOD rip of the game without any corruption in the video partition, and properly stealthed; Using the activate.iso is safe as playing online with a modded console can be! There is NO added danger from using it other than there being no protection for the video partition. So for the love of God better make sure you have a good rip. (Do it twice and compare them to each other to see if you get the same results, perhaps. And just pray your Kreon or 360 w/0800 isn't dying.)

It is certainly safer than the alternative of patching the game to a previous wave's video partition! <~~ = banning.

The activate.iso disc is most likely what the creator of 1.6 meant when they said it will be compatible with all future waves to come. However I'm not him, so I can't say that for him. Eventually you will see a new firmware. But do you really want the master(s) wasting their time on a bunch of people crying and complaining over having to get off their arse to put two discs into the console to play one game. When they have a much more impending doom of the un-moddable drive to be working with, right now.

i mean if the ripp is good, then yeah its all good but how to do that when u cant check.

abgx360 can still check the stealth files and the game CRC. It can still autofix the stealth files if that's necessary. The wave 4 video partition will always be the same from game to game, so it's not hugely important that it's not being recognised. If you run any wave 4 game through abgx360, the PFI and video details will always be this: -

PFI CRC = 05C6C409
Video CRC = 1914211B (V0 = 29D07E66, V1 = EAE76B94)

If if for some reason you download a rip where the video partition is corrupt, then it will fail verification because the CRC won't match.

You're safe (as safe as you can be) to play wave 4 games if they verify. That's why on the abgx360 site it says this: -

Quote:
Once a Wave4 title is verified, abgx360 will still download the .ini from the database and fully check out the image. If the image matches and the game is verified, then it has also passed the stealth checks and thus it is as safe to play as any wave3 or wave2 game.

A new version of abgx360 will allow you to autofix games if the wave 4 video partition is corrupt or missing, or if some fool has patched a wave 4 game to an earlier wave, but in terms of verifying games and being safe, the current version of abgx360 is fine.

There you go no need to panic, another sure fire way is to rip the game yourself then you wont be shitting bricks.
