As it says in the title Ive been unable to launch any Wave 4 games. I re-flashed my drive to 1.6 and Ive downloaded and burned activate.iso twice (once across both layers, once on a single layer). When I put in activate.iso it boots correctly to the play this disc screen. However when I eject it (using the eject button) and place in any wave 4 game the game fails to boot and brings me to the 360 play video screen. Any suggestions or does the disk simply not work with BenQ drives?

I've read several instances of other folks not being able to get their BenQ to boot wave 4, even with the activate disc.

1.61 should be coming soon. Hopefully by the end of the week. I would wait for that.

my benq works. when it says play dvd, hit A, then a white screen will show up saying to put in a 360 game, thats when you eject the disc then put in your game. Thats what i do anyway and it works everytime.

So basically 1.61's only feature is the capability of playing wave 4 games with no need of an activate disc? Or does it bring other features?

AFAIK 1.61 just disables the video partition check, no extra features.

It doesn't disable it. It just adds wave 4 support, so it now has strict compliance with waves 1-4. That's why some people couldn't get those dodgy rips of MW2 to boot on 1.61 without using activate.iso - the video partition was patched by some n00b, so it didn't match any of waves 1-4.

Oh ok, so a rip came out of MW2 and it was patched by some noob who messed it up not letting it be played on 1.6 or 1.61? A friend at work is playing wave 4 games and i dont think he has 1.61, is it possible to play wave 4 games without the activate.iso or having the newest 1.61 fw? Thanks alot guys!

I have a question. With the new 1.61 fw coming out, does that mean we'll be able to play wave 4 games on xbox live agian? I ask this because I've been holding back in this activation disk method incase ms can track an ban pple.
