I recently flashed my liteon drive with the 1.6 ixtreme firmware and it plays backups fine. I was trying to backup Halo 3 ODST and for some reason XBC 2.9 will not find the drive so that I can back it up... What am i doing wrong? Jungle flasher can find the drive with no problem but XBC will not.. Any suggestions would be great....

Is the drive being assigned a drive letter in Windows?
Try rebooting the PC with drive attached and see if it changes anything.
I am far from an expert in this area, but just throwing ideas out there...

Nope, windows will not assign any drive letter at all. I did try to have the xbox hooked up and then rebooted the pc, but that didnt work. I even tried to power up the xbox while windows is loading like I used to do with my old dvd drive, but that also didn't solve the problem. Anyone else with any suggestions would be appricated... Thanks guys...

If windows hasn't given it a drive letter then will comp management let you assign one assuming it even shows up

Right click on My Computer, left click manage, right click on the drive and left click assign letter (or something to that effect)

This is a Lite on drive, AFAIK its only the Hitachi that have the mode b function.

To get the drive into 0800 mode to rip games, you need to eject the tray, disconnect the power, push the tray half way in, and then give power back to the drive. Give it a moment and then check Device Manager, it should be recognized.
The only other problem you might have is that XBC 2.9 was created before (if I remember right) the 83850c so XBC might not support it.

What's the reason your not using a kreon, well since your making your own backups it must be a right pain to keep strip'n the 360

Well i figured out the problem, i forgot to reinstall the via drivers and when i did that it worked, but would only read one disk of halo3 odst. When i put the multiplayer disc in, it would read the disc but for some reason it wouldnt let me hit the start button to rip the disc.. It was greyed out. anyone have this problem and were you able to fix it?
I just started to do this again and was thinking about buying a kreon drive, but I really only do this with very few games, and to me buying another drive wouldnt be worth it. I have became an expert on taking the case off thou ;)
