I bought a unit of ebay with a manufacture date of 2006/11/15 and to my surprise it registered online :)

I looked in side and noticed it had been x clamped :(and that it had the new style GPU heat sink? Did xboxes have the new heat sinks in Nov 2006?

my question really is how do i tied the hardware to the shell?

and am i covered for RROD?

The xbox site states

Current Warranty Status

# Warranty Type: Standard
# Warranty Start:

hnm don't know if they had the new sinks in back then but I do know that it might just be a referb or something as my gf has an 06 360 no hdmi that has the new sinks in it. bought it off a guy on craigs for 100 he said his old one red ringed and they sent him the one she has now. maybe they got it as a return from a store and later put the new hardware in then it redringed again and the guy you bought it from did the xclamp on it?

Ok thanks for the info but what about the warranty info above?

Am i covered by the three year warranty?

According to the outer shells MFD i am but i was thrown off by the warranty expiry date stated above?

I could always just replace the original x clamps but what about this heat sink, would i leave it in or replace with the old kind?

Well since it has the X-Clamp, the warranty would automatically be voided, but ya you might be able to remove the X-Clamp, and try sending it back, or get the original heatsink then send it back.

Thts sort of what i though but i am unsure on the heat sink???

It could of been placed there by the guy who did the xclamp or it could of been Microsoft if they previously dealt with the unit so im not sure if i should put the old one on or leave the new kind there.

167 days left until its out of the 3 year warranty :(

I have just noticed that the mobo has two stickers near the fans..

The one that i normaly see with the barcode along it and there is another. It is the same size/shape as the one normaly ny the fans.

It has a code of "124-00e" and thats all thats on the sticker.

Is this a refurb code of some sort?
