I bought an NEC 2500A burner a few months ago and, like everyone else, was wondering what media to use. I bought a 50 spindle of Matrix from shop4tech.com after reading their compatibility chart for media that worked with the NEC. Well, after 35 burns, I have yet to have a dud! :) Now shop4tech gave me a 10% coupon out of the blew, so I ordered a 100 spindle of Matrix 1-4x DVD-R for the grand price of $53.10, which includes free shipping! It doesn't get any better than this. :)

be careful of matrix, their dvd-r's worked fine with me too, but DO NOT BUY THEIR INKJET PRINTABLE DVD'S. I had probobly a 60-70 percent failure rate. I didnt even know what the problem was until i burned the same movie 3 times. It had skips in the exact same places. I even played it on 2 different dvd players. Then i burnt a copy with the normal matrix media and it worked perfect first time. on both dvd players. matrix is low quality so be careful, the skips are hard to find sometimes since most people can't watch every movie to its entirety right after they burn it. But, if you decide to watch the whole movie including special features one day and see there are skips then it gets pretty frustrating.
