help please...i cant get backups working anymore.
have xbox360 with samsung drive flashed with ixtreme firmware.
dont know the version as it was done for me (Nov 08)
at first could burn games no problem but now they wont boot.
just get xbox360 screen (when i press controller get buttons at bottom of screen as if trying to play movie)
burning game with img (layer break set correct)on verbatim disks.
could i need to hav newer version of ixtreme firmware? or have the newer games changed?

There's no new firmware yet, but iXtreme 1.61 should be released soon.
If you have iXtreme 1.6, download activate.iso and burn it to a dual layer disc with ImgBurn. Don't set a layer break and when it asks if you want to burn it just on the first layer of the disc, say yes. Even though the image is small and it would fit on a single layer DVD easily, you have to use a dual layer disc and burn it just on the first layer.
You only have to use the activation disc with wave 4 games. Put it in and wait until it says "Play DVD", then press A and you'll get a message saying something like "To play this game, put it in an Xbox 360". Eject the disc and put your wave 4 game in and it'll boot. The activation disc disables the checks that the firmware does, enabling you to boot unsupported wave 4 games, but it's only a one time thing, so every time you won't to play a wave 4 game you'll have to use this disc swapping method.
EDIT - BTW, if your 360 was flashed in November 08, then you won't have iXtreme 1.6 as it wasn't released then, so you won't be able to use this method. You'll either have to upgrade to 1.6 and use the boot disc, or just wait until the new firmware is released which means you won't be able to play any wave 4 games in the mean time.
