While I was downgrading my wii, the machine asked what country code i wanted, since I figured I did not need to change my country I chose to skip the option. However this prompted my wii to change, and now I can only see the screen as it scrolls quickly by with a green tint. I am guessing that the wii has changed from NTSC to PAL.

Because of the scrolling I can not use any function of the wii since the IR pointer and my eyes have a tough time following the screen.

Can I fix this?

Any help would be super appreciated
thanks

you bricked your wii by downgrading without reading instructions carefully, you are an idiot. Only way to fix your wii now is by restorning the nand, but i bet you didnt back that up. So only wiifrii can save you imo. Try that if that doesnt work get a mod chip to restore its regional code settings or send it back to nintendo for a replacement.

thanks for the info
I actually might have backed my nand file, I do have a nand file on my SD card.
What would I have to do to activate it? Is it possible with my wii being bricked?

yes if you have backed up your nand you can activate it by holding the reset button to enter a menu to restore the nand. Youll know it works or not if preloader launches and there is a menu with gears. Use the gamecube controller and click on the menu with gears and click restore from SD. If you cant enter this menu it means you fked up somewhere.

I suggest you try holding the reset button multiple times sometimes it doesnt launch right away.

The rest thing is not working.
Though I am not sure my wii is really bricked, the wii works, however the screen is just scrolling and black and white.
If i had a PAL TV I am quite sure I would be able to use the wii.
I the mean time I will try the rest thing again

are you not listening to me? what you have is a typical banner brick problem. This normally happens in two cases.

1. you install a wad from a wrong region
2. you use a wad and install wrong regional stuff. <---- this is you

If you had preloader installed you could access the preloader and go to homebrew channel and access your wad manager and install that right region by downgrading again.

Since you didnt do this i hoped you back up your nand using bootmii, and since you are holding that reset button and thats not working your wii is not accessing the menu it means you DIDNT BACK UP your Nand and you dont have bootmii or preloader installed.

You are running out of options i suggest returning your wii to nintendo and paying the 75 dollars for a repair or buying a mod chip and accessing the config menu to install the fix.

You could try buying a component cable Blue/Green/Red/White/Red instead of the composite cable Yellow/Red/White. I know if you use a component cable for PAL games on an NTSC system the picture is normal.

Did you install Bootmii at all?

Thanks guys for all your help
I will try a couple of other things,
connecting to a my computer which than possibly allow me to switch to ntsc visuals.
And if that does not work then off for that mod chip.

Oh ya about the bootmii
I was sure I did have it, and the files are on my SD card. However any of the functions that it should be giving my wii are not happening, so either I did not actually install it, or something else went wrong, regardless, both are moot since it still provides a none usable wii.
This of course leads me to my last post and I shall thank once again for the help, and hope my wii rise once again:)
Thanks
