Stupid theory. If you knew anything about IP addressing, you would know that you have probably had 1000 different IPS's by then. They would have to flag the block which is impossible.

Well they got me today have not played anything new just did the update. The thing that sucks is now I cant load games to the hard drive anymore after the ban. Also you cant use media center without live if I could fix those 2 things I don't care about the ban.

few questions, i didnt connected the xbox to the internet in few days since i started to play episodes from liberty city, is it possible for them to see in 2 months that i was playing episodes from liberty city, modern warfare 2 and assassins creed 2 before it officialy came out?
and another question, i dont play online , dont have time to play with kids who can probably beat me in most games anyway because they actually have time to play, but anyway, the only thing i really do need the live for is downloading dlc for rockband or guitar hero, i'm assuming that if i'll be banned from live i wont be able to download those songs as well, so will it be possible to take my hdd, go to a friend's house who have a completley legit xbox, recover my profile and download the songs, and then play them on my xbox? or do i take the chance of getting him banned as well?

I am not banned yet what are peoples suggestions should I keep on logging on or should I stay offline. The way I see it is there no point to stya offline because I already have played backups. For information I live in Canada (that may affect it), played ODST,Halo 3, Left 4 Dead, Cod 5 on this console so far have Hitachi DJ47 5.1. I may try playing borderlands today offline though. Any suggestions should I stay offline or online?

Well i call bs on playing those games early u liar. If your profile is banned than no you cannot download even on a friends, u have to get live and a new profile to be able too. he could download a song and transfer it to your 360 i think

My friend was banned today. The only games either of us have played in weeks is halo 3 (his is a legit copy i believe) and cod WAW (backup) on XBL.
I haven't tested to see if I'm banned. I got the update the other day and haven't played since. don't want to even try to log on.

well Im was gonna buy one of those anti rrofd consoles that have been completely customized with chips and a mother board at the local mod shop in china town.
I play heavy online on wii and ps3 and was thinking about adding a xbox to my collection. But Its useless to buy unless I can find a way to get around the 360 ban waves.
fortunately I found the NME V2.
I just need to know if any ones been banned yet with it.
Its a fairly new chip and this is the first ban wave since its been out and Its now time to see if the chip holds it end of the bargin "100% live safe super ban proof technology".
Still waiting to hear who has been banned yet with it.
Seems like its the flashers and cheap mod chip users who got the blunt end of the stick "Banned".

since it's largely doom and gloom, mine was not banned. Not that we're seeing any pattern but:
1. Benq 1.6 firmware, no previous bans, it's my only 360
2. Didn't play ahead of release dates, abgx verified, all that stuff.
3. No Wave 4 (to my knowledge)
4. Did play Borderlands/Brutal Legent, but not before release.
5. Haven't played much this week (been sick)

The update has nothing to do with people getting banned and for all we know m$ has been saving these bans for months waiting to pwn a lot at once for a uber 1 mil kill

Right but this "ban wave" is currently happening to people who are on, they are collecting info from days,weeks, months ago and banning all at once. The second you get back onto live they will "know" what you have done. You can't wait it out. your 360 is a snitch

Ok update from me, since i had the xbox 360 open anyway i have upgraded to 1.61 firmware, but i've just logged onto live and no problems yet nor updates ot install.
1. Benq 1.6 firmware (until just now), banned on an old xbox 360.
2. ABGX verified and all after release date
3. Up to wave 3 games played, only just got 1.61 fw so i aint played wave 4 yet
4. Online all the time but not played any majorly recent games other than the footy ones and smackdown vs raw 2010

Hahah you got me! It's all in fun guys. I have not been banned yet but I knew the rules before entering the game. There must be a way microsoft is able to ping the drive.. or maybe if they "can't" ping the drive.. who knows.
Ping the drive? OMG.... do you even know what Ping means?
Sure I do, is it not within reason to suggest that the drive can be checked for firmware just as the firmware version on your pc's drive can be checked with the right tools? A ping is an acknowledgment request. Do we have to start a network 101 class for you?
I've been in IT for years. All ping does is give you an answer upon request, it doesn't actually give you information other than a reply back. You're the one that needs some training. Ping is not like Nslookup or other tools.

- Never played games before release
- All games checked with abgx (proper settings)
- iXtreme 1.6
Does anyose takes a guess if MS (probably) bans everyone at the same time or there are differences between countries?

|Anyone have a answer about using media center after ban, also the update has something to do with it. I cant load games to the hard drive anymore after update. It now says game is not supported and any games i had on the hard drive wont play anymore.
