The only time that I know of that ABGX gave a False Positive was with UFC and Red Faction. For 3 or 4 days (i think) they had the wrong information in there database and people that used ABGX to patch their .ISO's were patching them with bad data thus making them detectable. They figured out that they messed up and posted it on their site, they then released the proper data. I think the people that got banned might have played one or both of those games with the wrongly patched .iso.

I think this coupled with playing games early is the reason for the bannings, i have done neither and i am safe and playing on live.

This is my first ever post on afterdawn but I think it is worth it if it at all contributes to getting to the bottom of this ban wave.
I flashed my Hitachi 79 with 1.51 FW about 3 months ago. Since then I have played a total of 14 burnt discs (including ODST and Forza 3) but no wave 4s (not interested in any of them). I've always used ABGX to verify the iso's and have never played a game before its release date.
Currently not banned.

I've been hit with the console ban. I have a Hitachi drive with 1.51 modded this spring. Early on I played some backups that were lent to me so I don't know if they were all correctly stealth patched. Later as I learned more about the scene I downloaded my own iso's and always ran through abxg360 before burning. I did allow my son to play one wave 4 game (Bakugan) 2 days early but only on a profile that does not have a Live account. So I don't know if my console got flagged for playing non-stealthed backups early in its life or a wave 4 title a couple of days early under a non-Live account. Time to buy a new console. What kind of forensics can be done in the scene to determine what triggered the ban?

I'd be willing to bet Bakugan is what killed you. Even though he wasn't online the console would have recorded that game had been played.

1.6fw here, I've played several Wave 4 games recently including SvR2010 & Episodes From Liberty City using the active.iso. I do disable my connection to the 360 if I'm playing a game upto a day or two before release, and so far I'm not yet banned.

I'm signed in under a different name (in case ms are smart enough to monitor this thread and ban peoples usernames).
Lite-On Ixtreme 1.6 NOT banned
Anyway I've never played UFC online only played it in my console to test it for someone. I've never played forza 3 or borderlands at all, I have played online with the old console same account: Call of Duty 4, Call of duty WaW, Smackdown vs Raw 2009, Pro Evolution soccer 2009, Guitar hero 3 (unverified), Guitar hero world tour (lots of bad crc with missing sound in some songs), Midnight club LA, Need for Speed Undercover. (my old one I used to play the 2 call of duty games on rrod'd and I got a new one I was using samsung Ixtreme 1.4) Anyway since I got the new one I've played cod4 again. I'm lucky my old one did rrod because I was playing corrupted games in it and everything never verifying and now my account is safe :)
Lately online i've played in my new console: Call of Duty 4, Call of Duty WaW, Smackdown vs Raw 2010, ODST, Halo3, Tiger Woods 2010, Guitar hero 3 (actually played a bad game crc copy with an unverified dmi while not connected to live phew :)), Guitar Hero Metallica, Guitar Hero World Tour, Guitar hero 5, Fifa 10, Pro Evolution Soccer 2010, Need for speed shift, 50 cent BOTS, Left 4 Dead (1), Brutal Legend, Grand Theft Auto IV, Wheelman...
I think that's all if there's more I'll edit.
Sorry the description is so long but I'm just trying to help rule out the ban :)

Bugged I never knew this!, concerning for me, I have ran both of these through my ABGX program just now and found that Red Faction is not verifying...., I am not yet banned but this may cause a problem?!

Not banned yet and have done the Xbox update as well. Have been playing forza online no problem. Also have been playing the new gta with the activate disc before. So far so good is there anyway that Microsoft can tell when ur using a boot disc for wave 4 games. I think I may have been lucky I've only had mine modded for about a month now and it broke for about a week with the no video problem just got fixed and back on now. I don't know if this is true but the kid who did my mod was saying it's basically possible for Xbox to find all mods eventually but they won't do everyone at once because they'll lose all their subscription money real fast. I don't know how much of that is true but it could just be the luck of draw on the bans

First post as well, but have been lurking for a long time.
I'm NOT banned. Had my Samsung TS-H943A flashed with iextreme 1.6 about 5 months ago. Since then I've played backups of all these games (all verified with level 3 in abgx). I've only downloaded torrents, never had an actual rip.

Left 4 Dead
Borderlands
SFIV
Skate 2
Bully: Scholarship Edition
Fifa 10
Operation Flashpoint
UFC: Undisputed

and Gears of War (which I have the original disc)
I really didnt play many games before I got flashed, and once I did, I started playing a slew of games so I'm sure that had to raise some sort of flag, no?
Just thought Id post incase it helps anyone.

You cant get online without the update, is there a way to find out if your banned without the update?
Is it just USA anyone banned in the UK?
anyone banned on 1.6.1?
anyone banned that hasnt played UFC / Red Faction / boarderlands?

Is it the abgx False Positive was with UFC and Red Faction ?

I dont know, turned my xbox on its just asking for the update, dunno what to do. on 1.6 atm played gta(not early and with the activate disk) havent played UFC / Red Faction / boarderlands.
dont think GTA passed abgx when i burnt it tho. :(

1. I'm in the UK.
2. Im on 1.6.1 now was on 1.6.
3. Played UFC / Red Faction / Borderlands.
4. Not played anything with an activate ISO.
5. Never played games early.
6. My Red Faction copy was bad DMI and the UFC was ok.
7. I'm NOT BANNED.

Away from my xbox so I can't check today, but I was on all day yesterday and was never banned. My roommate who uses the same rips and everything I use said hes not banned today, so I'm hoping the sames for me.
Mabe microsoft just flagged people a while ago, and just banned all the flagged people yesteday.
No matter what everyone who got banned says there had to have been a bad rip involved, or some early game playing.

Is it possible for those that are not banned to say their location (country). I hear that some countries ban waves weren't as violent.
