Theories like this make no sense. MS are probably making a slight loss on each console sold still. They want people to buy games, accessories, Xbox Live subscriptions and content from Live. That's how they make their money. If they had a "script" that could detect all modded consoles, they wouldn't just use it once a year and they'd ban them all.

Rip or Internet Games: torrents from private trackers
Banned Before: never
Registered with M$: No
4th Wave/Activate.iso: When I had 1.6 I played tekken and gta with activation disc.
When I flashed to 1.61 I have played both with out the disc
Sent Back for repairs Console to M$ with ixtreme FW: No
Sent Back For Repairs with Orig FW Back On IT: No
ABGX 100%: the only 2 games I did not wait for were forza and nhl
all of my other games I waited till abgx verified and release date
I wanted to add that I used my 360 to power my drive when flashing

Excuse the retarded username. Reader here for a while but I suppose Ill post some relevant information as well as ask a question Ive been waiting to ask.
pro 60gb hdd no storage at all modded, hdd or mem cards.
original dvd drive that came with the pro bundle.
Never played 4th wave or used the activation disc.
LiteOn 74850c, iX 1.6 flashed back around 2 months ago
Have about 21 games that I have downloaded from 360iso, verified them all and all were clean except FIFA 10 which I still haven't reburned, I believe it was a stealth patch so im probably sol...but Not banned as of this minute.
My question is is it possible to update a drive if I do not have my drive key? I want to update to 1.61 lite on when the lite on is released by iX, but I had my flash done by someone and I don't know if he saved my key or what, he did use JungleFlasher however.
The only game I played early was forza 3 and it was a simple tag ban for playing early nothing else. Otherwise all of my games have been fully verified by ABGX the exception as I said FIFA 10.

Forza 3 - played early and gamertag was banned, nothing else so I made a new tag.

This is possible in Jungle Flasher. See the tutorial linked in my signature called "FLASHED Lite-ON".

I think maybe its time to set up a new thread of UNBANED consoles with only facts and nothing more. I don't know how it should be set up but what I do know is it should include Date of FLASH, Drive, games played, how were they acquired, and verification status of the games. I think if we do this then we can analyze the difference between those that survived the wave and their connection. This thread is getting out of hand :-/

And NeWop can continue to do so despite that thread being closed. That thread was only going to end up like this one, but is as good as any for the thread owner to keep updated, or one of you regulars could do the same with a different thread. However it would have to be someone who frequents here often enough else we'll end up with more duplicate threads.

well technically i guess its not over. but 3 guys that are afterdawn addicts told me that they have been thru all of the waves and if you get thru the day where everyone says "banned" and you sign in and your fine, then your not banned till next wave. Like pretty much saying there is only one ban wave a year, but you never know when the next one could be

So if you have played verified games from torrents on a 1.6 iX such as COD MOD 1, COD WAW, and halo ODST and not yet been banned, is there any chance that buying a legit copy of COD MOD 2 will help you not get banned or are you already screwed amyways

You're most likely screwed. But if you haven't been banned yet just don't play anything early and verify games with abgx.

OK i updated to IX 1.61 last night,
I've played GTA which wasnt properly stealth patched before i updated,
Didnt play GTA early,
Havent played Boardlands / UFC / Red fraction,
Just got the Xbox Update and not banned! Thank f...

How can you tell if someone on your friendlist is banned? a person who played borderlands almost a week before release hasn't been on since 10/30.

Ok, im on 1.61 with a benq drive...i Have played games pre release, but not online (disconnected all cables)
evidently i have discovered that this is irrelevant as it can be apparently flagged even iff online, and then banned when you go online.
Does anyone yet know where this "flag" information is held, and will clearing the cache before logging into live help any?

Hey just wanted to add more information that could help I talked to the guy who modded my console and he's done over 100s of them and what he said is causing it is the actual updating of the fw because Microsoft is able to tell how many times the drive has been turned on with a sata cable not from the console if that makes sense. Like I said early I didn't do the mod just relaying info to help people out. So it would seem the more you've updated the fw on ur drive the more of a red flag you've sent off.He also told me there is a way to reset it but probably better to wait for that right now. Also he told me to stick to the iso disk before playing wave 4 games for now and I shouldn't have a problem. I haven't been banned and have been playing forza 3 and the new gta as of right now. Also he said it's mainly people that have played games early or had bad rips of games. Hope this helps
