Sorry I have not come on here before, but I never really needed to as I usually just use this site for information.
Well just wanted to say that I got hit with the ban today. I was using netflix this morning. I went out to lunch and came home to put netflix back on and it said I was banned. The system was purchased about 3 months ago from Walmart once the prices dropped.
I have a system upstairs which is still fine. That one was purchased about 3 years ago or so.
The strange thing is I keep my main gamertag on a memory card. When I went to go try my upstairs system I put the MU in and it didnt show my gamertag. I had to recover it on that system.
So oh well... what can you do. I understood going into this that it could possibly happand and it did. Now I just need to get an arcade system and go with it from there.
Anyway, this is a great site, and I enjoy reading the posts.

Hi, this is my first post on the forums, but am a long time reader. I read through all the posts.
I currently am running a 360 which i bought back in 2007. I have a Hitachi drive with 1.51 FW. I have not played games early, but have played red faction online. I have played all of my backups online. I have not been banned yet.

yep appears to have been another major wave of bans today... Best to just stay off LIVE until there is more news on what the deal is... Some are saying they never played games early and their games are 100% stealth but you know how that goes....

what does staying off live do? most likely the damage is already done... correct? im not sure how they spear head there ban waves but i would imagine its already to late if the waves are today. Right?

It's not gonna matter if u stay off live or not right now. If your gonna get banned they've already found you and will do it as soon as u turn Xbox live on. It's not like you can play hide and seek with them right now like they are hovering over your console for awhile and hope you come out to play. They've already found you. Not a hard concept people. Just don't play it games early and you SHOULD be fine.

I think it is kind of obvious that they can somehow detect firmware because the new 1.61 came out on thursday, and the ban wave started friday. So they could not have found a way to detect a new firmware in 1 day, they must be able to detect all kind of firmware.But i still dont get why they are only banning some people, while lucky people like me are not banned.

Yea i'm still one of the lucky ones only had mine modded for a month though and it was broke for a good week and half with the no video problem but I got that fixed. Will see what happen. I'm just wondering if Microsoft will do the ultimate F U and do the real ban right before mw2 is officially out. Who knows I'll enjoy it while it lasts. You can get refurbed xbox360s at Gamestop now for 120 so it's not a big deal to me.

I have been banned today and can confirm that I have previously done everything by the book. I have never played a Game before release date. I have always used ABGX to stealth the games. I have always used the latest firmware as I flash the consoles myself. I have 2x consoles and only one has been banned. Absolutely gutted. For those people spouting about "they have all probably been banned cos they played games b4 release date" It has happened guys. I have flashed abot 30x xbox's and do know what I am doing. Luck of the draw i suppose. BAD LUCK tho.

Andmil, there were a few games (UFC Undisputed and one other that I forget) that verified as legit in ABGX for a few days, only find out later that they were indeed bad rips.
It is a possibility that one of those games was the culprit. You may want to find out what the other is and if you have them, rescan them through ABGX.

it is fact i got banned today and lisen, i had ixtreme 1.6 no problems with wave 3. then come wave 4 so i upgrade to 1.61 because 1.6 wont boot wave 4 without one shot boot. to cut a story short i played 1 game witch was tekken 6 and got banned never played a game early and always checked iso's first. be scared m/s are bang on it...

It isn't necessary to make pirated copies yourselves, I am even stating that most n00bs who play burned games do not even have a own PC with burner .. the fact that you use copies in the Xbox 360 violates the Code of Conduct and deprives the game developers their own hard earned money. basically if someone have modified their console to play 'back-ups' they are taking willingly the risk of to be banned by Microsoft ..
That's not what I meant at all.
I was simply saying he couldn't have played anything pre-release or unstealthed games because he doesn't know how

the only pattern i have seen of banned persons is that they played halo odst some time before they were banned, ASUMING you havent played any wave4 games

Guys i dont want to hi-jack the thread and go all off-topic but if anybody could help id appreciate it. I just got a friends old 360 and i have the cd drive out (noob alert!). Where is the best place to find a tutorial of exactly what i need to do? Ive already got all the software i need. Is it just as simple has hooking the drive up and flashing it?

ya same here, got banned 1.6FW benq. had the console returned from ms because of rrod about 2 months ago. havent been playing any games early, i think it was ufc undisputed because that was the last update i remember (yesterday)

My modded console was finally banned today - BenQ 1.51. Haven?t played much in a while, occasionally logged on to see what was happening on Live and to download the odd Arcade game or to have a quick game of Dead Space or Batman AA - both originals. I have never played games before their official launch dates, never even played wave 3 backups on it! The only backup I recently played was Monopoly Party, which I checked with abgx360. So to cut a long story short, M$ can obviously now read your drive firmware, well done to them! Must have been in this recent Live update.

What do you mean don't want to hijack thats exactly what your doing. try the stickies up top that say read before posting its all there.
Back on topic, I have flashed around 20 360's and one got banned this morning. Played everything I have, only difference is it was a benq spoofed as a hitachi.

I have to confirm this as well. My buddy got banned and he only played two games ever. NFS shift and ODST

Yes, MS MUST be able to detect firmware now if you were banned. Lord knows you never could've made a mistake and always knew how to use ABGX perfectly.
That's why everyone with a modded 360 is banned, right?
