It doesn?t really bother me; I knew the risks and have spare unmodded consoles. Just thought I?d give my two cents worth. I?m not jumping to any conclusions but the fact of the matter is that I was careful and used abgx360 etc, etc. Let?s see what happens, keep reading the forums and let?s get other peoples feedback.

Ok guys, post if you got banned and the console has been rrod repaired or not...
My mates elite got banned this afternoon,he's only had it 2months from new so no repair there. I really think your clutching at straws with this 'rrod repair now banned thing'
I guess the long and short of it is everyone knows the risks,no1 knows how the hell they catch up with folk,something missing somewhere?? i.e. a bad rip,a game played early(retarded),not verifying through abgx360 but seems to me that microsuck have found a way to tell,be that via the games installed and played or by reading something from the xbox.
All i know is my mate had a good flashed xbox(1.6 Liteon 8000series),games checked throughly via abgx,burnt via image burn then rechecked thru abgx from the disc and is now sitting with a rather expensive paper weight!!
Somethings wrong somewhere!!

With my ban, I did not play ODST. I have two systems, only one banned. Only game I really played on there often was Madden. I did have it installed on the HDD.
Of course the annoying thing about this is I was speaking with my buddies last night about the bans that happand. Little did I know it would happan to me the next day.
I know its not the end of the world and stuff, but it still sucks.
I guess if you want to look at the glass half full, it could be worse, we could be sued by microsoft, have to give up our lives and houses and go to jail. I guess an xbox that is no longer able to go on live is not that bad.

Yup same here just got banned and I havent played in weeks or anything early for that matter. Oh well such is life, good thing I have another one. No offense but all this is cuz of MW2 damn ppl who cant wait. Damn you straight to hell

well i installed 2 games on my hard drive, both of them copies
gears1 & gears2, maybe they can check out if they are legit or not.
would make sense because you cant install them when the console is banned.
lol there are sooo many posibilities

This is all pretty disturbing reading to be honest,people that have done all they can do to avoid getting a ban being banned!!!
Am i the only one thats a little concerned about this??
I thought the whole point of abgx and ixtreme was to work in tandom and avoid(admittedly not 100%) the possibility of detection??
Is it just a case of an unlucky few getting stung??
Seems to be loads of folks out there getting mashed with this mallet huh....

The more I think about it, I am on the HDD bandwagon. I play Madden all the time. I am in 3 leagues. I have it on my HDD that was banned. Its not on the HDD that wasn't banned.

Just something to consider for those of you that got banned while playing nothing early and verifying everything with ABGX. Were you using Verbatims or not?

ya but i feel this doesnt make a difference...but who knows, and also u guys think the only legit copy was the rrod? and if you were me who got banned playing mw2 online early, would u mod your other xbox to play mw2 or no, and just buy the game and wait till the wave is long gone? I'm not going to play before release date, gona get the rrod version btw.

Just been banned whilst my mate was playing COD4.
All of my games were properly stealthed and I never played before release date. Only possibilities could be down to bad media (a few discs were AONE) using 1.51 rather than 1.6 or that the automatic flag when you turned your 360 on without a disc drive was true as this is how I originally flashed my drive as well as fixed it when it RROD'd.
I'm from the UK, any other brits been banned?

Have you checked to see if your burned discs verify in abgx360? A couple of people on Xbox-Scene said that the ISO verified, but after burning, the disc didn't verify even though the burn process completed successfully. I guess poor quality media could be a cause of that. I'm not saying that this is the cause of a ban or anything, but it's something you might wanna check, just out of interest.

I'm really unsure what the issue could be,he done everything by the book,followed all the best guides etc,still he got banned

Pretty much mate. :( I'm currently verifying the disc in ABGX360. So far now errors. HOWEVER, It's having major trouble reading the discs by the looks of things, got up to about 40% complete and then stopped spinning and is now only reading at 3.1mb/s. I think media could definately be an issue.
Meh, got an excuse to buy an elite now. :)

I would think that the writer should be able to read the disc if the burn was good. I've checked a few discs in the past when I've made a copy of a copy and I checked a few in the last couple of days just to see if they verified and all of them did. I only use Verbatims though.

The vast majority of the people posting threads entitled "My burns are always failing!" are using shitty discs, and by "shitty discs" I mean anything other than Verbatims. I think it's sensible advice to always use Verbatims personally, regardless of whether bans happen or not.
I was just interested to see if there was any correlation between those who have never played early and always verified games (the ISO, before burning), and burned discs that don't verify. Like I said, I'm not saying that this has anything to do with bans necessarily, so I don't want anyone reading this and thinking it does, but it would be interesting to see the results. No doubt it will end up like most other speculation - some people's discs won't verify and some will - but there's no harm in doing a few tests.

Ok verbatims may be better quality, but its not the discs. i have had over 50 memorex not one coaster. People dont realize its all about your burner, if you have a shitty burner than ya ur gona get freeze ups or coasters, as simple as that.

Good burner + crap discs = fail, a lot of the time, so you want to use a decent burner AND good quality discs IMO. Have you actually tried to verify any of your burned discs in abgx360? It doesn't sound like you wait for games to verify anyway though.

Because not everybody wants to read simple-minded gibberish. I can rattle off texts on a phone as quickly as any teen, however i nor the majority of readers want to read such nonsense on forums. Imagine the uproar if a daily newspaper did the same.
