Patience, we are nearing the final areas of testing, and we are working on populating the database.

It will be worth the wait

Someone wrote in here that you can check to see if your banned using the test network setting with your hdd unplugged and no memory card without it flashing your nand and losing your hdd install or corrupting ur profile. Is this true or is the only way to ring up microsoft??????

i don't think there's any 100% way to tell for sure until you actually try to sign onto live.

Yeah, but by doing that way you arent actually signing into live, becuase you dont use an account. I have a 360 with a benq that might be banned, but i dont want to sign in and have hdd feature crippled aswell as it corrupting my profile for offline achievements.

Just to let people know, retailers who buy and sell second hand consoles seem to be prone to buying and selling on flashed XBOX's. I've just flashed a mates XBOX 360 which he bought from gamestation a month ago and last week got banned (he thought there'd be no harm now in getting it flashed). Turns out after reading the firmware on the drive who ever had owned the xbox before had flashed it with ixtreme 1.51. He had also replaced the warranty sticker with a new one, probably off ebay, and had made it look as good as new.

Gamestation are refusing to accept the banned xbox due to lack of evidence my mate didn't flash it himself, and as usual microsoft are being their usual monosyllabic selves. =)

So for those of you with zero ethics and want to get rid of a "hot XBOX" thats not yet been banned go sell it to gamestation or CEX!

Flashed a friends console who never been on xbox live,(He had the first dashboard). Hooked it up to live and no ban. Been playing on his console for a week. I only been playing games off the hard drive, Read somewhere that it makes a difference. Either that or ban wave is over.

Can someone tell me what I need to buy to use this new application when it's up and running.
A Datel transfer kit or something?

hey so im new to this and all but im not a complete idiot and have been following this accross a couple of boards and found a guide published in 2008 by www.360mods.net and in there it says this:

"Using this firmware hack and running your backups on Xbox Live violates the Xbox Live Terms of Service agreement that you agreed to when you signed up for the online gaming service. Microsoft withholds the right to terminate the Xbox Live service from you for any reason, at any point, with no warning, and no refunds. If you do get banned from Xbox Live, it is the system that is banned permanently. Simply put, if you are worried about Xbox Live, do not install this firmware modification."

so everyone who is mad at M$ they clearly told everyone of you that they would do this, in most cases it was you who did not read what they told you so you only have yourselves to blame. So let these post get back to tracking the ban waves as it was intended.

1.61 i was online during the banwave but even though i modded my box ive only played the legit games i have. A week into the wave I decided i would stay offline till a solution(which turns out to be LT) comes. My only fear is that i switch to LT and as soon as i go online i am banned cause my console has already been flagged.

So... you've just answered your own question. Here's a suggestion, keep your modded console offline permanently. Go out, buy a new unmodded arcade, use that to play any retail games you really want to buy and play online, use your modded console to play everything else, and swap your hard drive back/forth between both to upload any offline achievements. Best of both worlds!

I thought achievements on banned consoles would not be able to carry over to legit console.

If you keep your unbanned console off of Live then it will never get banned, which will allow you to continue to transfer achievements back and forth. It is possible that a new list of banned consoles will be included in a future game update that then triggers the ban on this console which will corrupt the profile which can then not be transferred to the non-banned console.

You can uncripple the hdd, but it's a lot more work than just doing the wp mod before you're banned.

i would like to mention that i have a modded box, got it a year ago for christmas - haven't updated firmware/etc. in any way at all - i leave it disconnected from the internet when i'm not playing it (and just didn't go on LIVE during the banwave), and i've logged maybe 100 hours of halo, cod4, odst, skate 2, gears 2, gta4, etc, etc, etc since the wave ended. no problems whatsoever.

Well done. Everyone here just kept logging in to check if they've been banned and eventually they did. You can probably breath easy till next november and try the same again. Noobs always know best.

Why complain, most people who modded their box knew the day was going to come eventually and are mature enough to except it. Besides, what will complaining help, you're still getting your games free. Only difference is we're back to talking and gloating to our imaginary friends.

know what's weird?
my friend got a modded box about 3 months earlier than i did - around the end of last september. we played the shit out of that xbox, dying thousands of times in halo...but it was fun.
until november rolled around. i remember it was the first week of november, we went to his house after school and BANHAMMER.
there's a correlation here...yearly banwaves come during early november/late october :o

I would say it's over but getting on with 1.61 and below firmwares, will just flag you for the next wave. I read that you should install games to the hard drive and play them that way. Atleast until new firmware comes out

Exactly how i feel. I'll stay offline till LT so I know i have a FW that will reduce the likely hood for me to get flagged and banned.

yeah i agree with creaky.
All these people CLAIMING this has happened to them (teh big M$ ban hamma') should show proof. Get out your camera & take a pic if you dare to not have your bluff called.

someone just said this, i think it makes A LOT of sense:
"So for those of you with zero ethics and want to get rid of a "hot XBOX" thats not yet been banned go sell it to gamestation or CEX!"
and i'll throw in GameStop, because they have nooo way to tell.
