i found this one CoD.Modern.Warfare.2.XBOX360-215.torrent
heres the description...
The p2p release was bad with the ss, dmi, and pfi. This one is patched to retail and good.
Note that it is wave 4, you will need activate.iso or iX 1.61 to boot this.

It's not "from" proper. It's named as if it's "a" proper, but I've just read the nfo and it looks like another P2P release. Anyone can put out a release with the word "proper" in the title. With so many versions floating about, it only makes verification even more important.

That's the version with the dodgy Video CRC: -
Quote: Video CRC = D28A9228 (V0 = 18066DD3, V1 = 11F8FAFC)
All wave 4 games have this Video CRC: -
Quote: Video CRC = 1914211B (V0 = 29D07E66, V1 = EAE76B94)
If it was wave 1-3 then abgx360 would recognise it and it doesn't. If it was wave 4, then the Video CRC would match and it doesn't. That means it's either a new wave (unlikely IMO) or someone has downloaded the unstealthed version, patched it, then re-uploaded it again (very likely IMO).

Why is everyone so sure that you will get a ban if you play this early. So long as you are disxonnected from Live I dont see what the problem is. Do we still beleive that there is something inside the 360 that flags up the fact that youve played a dodgy game next time you connect to Live????

1.61 has strict compliance with waves 1-4. The versions that most people are posting in this thread do not have a wave 1-4 video partition, which is why they won't boot. They should boot with the activate.iso disc though, which disables the stealth checks, but there could be other reasons why the game doesn't work aside from the dodgy video partition.
Originally posted by backyboy: Why is everyone so sure that you will get a ban if you play this early.
Nobody is, but why are people so sure that they WON'T get banned if they play this early? It makes more sense to just wait until a verified good retail rip is available than to be trying all kinds of patched versions, especially as in the last couple of weeks we've seen permanent gamertag bans for playing Forza 3 early and permanent console bans for playing copied games.
Some people's attitude to this is like having sex without a condom. lol. They are assuming it's safe, when it might not be. The more risks you take, the more likely you are to get caught. Just because other people have taken risks and not got caught, that doesn't make it any safer.
